Getting there early

It’s November 17 and I am already getting stuff set up for Christmas. I’m listening to Kool 108 and they’ve got Christmas music playing all the time! Same with Lite FM. jen and I are also decorating our home. This is early for me to be in the Christmas spirit. But last year with the wedding and honeymoon, we only had three weeks to enjoy our own home decorated before we left again for Christmas at our families. This year, I want to enjoy my home and focus more on establishing our own family traditions. Last night we put up the tree and got the lights on and then sat down to watch a Christmas favorite: Home Alone. And now Christmas decorations will be up longer since we will host my family during new years for a Bartholomew Christmas!

I am excited about Christmas more these last few years. This is because I have someone special to share the holidays with. And this time next year, Maddie will have her first christmas! That will be fun!

Tomorrow jen and I are celebrating our one year anniversary! We’re heading out tonight just over the border into Wisconsin. We got a room at a motel there. I’m hoping I can leave UPS early so we can spend more time away. One of the benefits of this motel is the pool. We’re hoping that Jen can use this to help alleviate her hip/sciatic pain issues. After our night stay, we’ll go to Shane Co to get our rings cleaned and then head out to Olive Garden for our anniversary dinner!

Oh tonight seems so long away . . .

Hey…saw you on random :). Happy Anniversary. That sounds like it was a fun plan for you guys to do. My fiance and I do the same thing with our christmas traditions now. Every year, usually the day or 2 before Christmas eve (if not the weekend before christmas) we make a nice big home made meal for just the 2 of us, drink champange and watch Its a Wonderfull Life, Home Alone and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and just enjoy the holiday spirit.
