it’s independence day and every firework display seems to spell out your name. i feel a firm longing, dripping with the sweat that comes on humid summer nights, tossing and turning violently in damp sheets. but i really can’t place any of this, i can’t pretend any of this is less than desire burning hotter than the streetlights through the swarms of fireflies that mean to glow but seem to fade tonight under a chemicolour sky exploding with telling glitter.

you say to call you whenever i need a hand and you’ll be there to fight for me, which is a beautiful thing to say. you show endless strength, but i don’t need a hero. i need you to show me your fear and uncertainty, i need you to show me you’re no better than me. let it shift and move. let’s take on the world together and fight for what’s real.

You have a vivid clarity with your words…please write a novel so the world will know they’re not alone in they’re thinking. It is but a funny and beautiful thing that we seek to love the frail and fight the “strong.” x x x
