light years away a heavenly body combusted, and microscopic pieces of fiery matter sailed on a moderately linear path towards earth. these astral fragments traveled past all history to last night, where it fell, sparkling and bloody red, down upon he and i, landing in our hair and face, on our fingertips and our backs. we breathed it in, still at a scalding 400 degrees, through our mouths and noses and into our lungs, where it burned and ravaged us so sweetly as it snuck into our bloodstream and into our hearts, reviving something that nearly wasn’t. and there we were, flashing with our chemical invincibility, as we fell in and out of rhythm, with electrified, blurred motion reflecting the thousands of reactions taking place within. our senses were heightened, and in our growing new reality we felt something magnificent, something so seemingly otherworldly, something like the beginning of a new kind of love.
