she’s covered in other peoples thoughts. she tries to break free but they’re too heavy, and they hold her down. she knows she can’t just push harder. she’ll have to find something within her to turn her luck around. now she’s just watching the clock tick. neverending anticipation, it makes it too hard to breathe. her eyes follow the hands and she’s motion-sick. the numbers make her dizzy, as they count down to something she cant see. she’s interrogating the sky for an answer to a question she can’t let fall. she’s fighting the natural impulse to run away and stands on the roof praying the heavens will hear her call.
