off and writing again

I guess this will be the first big entry for me!

Just hasn’t been the same losing mdd. I have had a lot of fun on facebook, reconecting with friends I haven’t seen in years. Catching up with what has gone on in their lives. Seeing pictures of their families, thats been great. And of course staying in touch with my mdd friends.

Not a lot has changed in my world, but a lot has changed. lol The hubby is still working wayyyyyy to much. It is starting to wear him down. He has been very short tempered, even with me sometimes. I really hate to see him like this. We are really looking forward to a 3 day holiday weekend. We traded in the old camper for a much bigger one. It is truly a house on wheels. The plan is to take it to our friends place on a lake for Labor Day weekend. Sounds like a relaxing time.

The daughter started her college classes 2 weeks ago. Not without the major bumps in the road she usually has. I tried to explain at some point she has to take the drivers seat in her course thru life. Mom will ride shot-gun if she gets into trouble I will be there.

The son is working 3 hours away from his home. He has been gone for almost a month. Hopefully he will make it back for the Labor Day weekend. I had to learn how to drive his big riding lawn mower, and mow his almost 3 acre yard. The first time was a hoot. I didn’t even know how to start the darn thing.

The nephew that was staying with us, got sent to work in Iowa. Haven’t seen him in almost a month. We are still deciding if he will come back to stay when he gets laid off.

We have had a pretty dry summer until the last few days. I emptied 3 inches out of the rain gauge yesterday. Now it is just cold, damp and dreary. Summer is almost gone, and we really never even had one!

Glad to find more mdd’ers on here. Hopefully our group can continue!

Strange to say it, but losing MDD has actually breathed a lot of life into my diary writing and friends list. It sounds like you and I have some things in common, at least having a daughter in college. I’ve been enjoying facebook lately, too.

Sorry to hear that your hubby is still working those huge hours, but there are many who wish they could do the same. Still, it’s a shame that his patience is going out with the effort…. I got the same image as Terri of the mower, and I’ve seen that Lucy comedy. I don’t think you’d be quite that bad, and three acres is just a bit much.

I know you’re trying hard with that nephew, but sometimes you just have to let it go. You’ve been more already than most would ever have… I think we had the same non-summer here that you mentioned. It’s worked out good for the grass since it never burned up though, so that’s been nice. I’m glad to see you here Liz, and you have a nice weekend. Ours’ is another rainy one, but nice anyway.

Sorry about adding so many notes here, but what’s a guy supposed to do??? Do they think friends won’t have more than 400 characters to say to each other? Hee Hee! They’re wayyyyyyy off. I’m with you about the MDD thing being sad, and maybe it will still correct itself. But even if it doesn’t, I think we’ve got a great group started here, and we’ll find others besides. Have a great weekend…
