Roller Skating and Lecture

On Tuesday night, I went roller skating with some people from one of the two weekly bible studies I go to. Actually, there was only one other person. Several were coming, but they all cancelled at the last minute.

It’s not something I’m likely to do again on my own, but it was fun once. Tuesday was adult night, so everyone was over 18. The majority of people were obviously regulars.

I just did my lecture. It went relatively smoothly. I tried out some dry humor, which I appreciate in professors, and a couple of people gave me pity laughs. People responded to my questions. Even though I announced that they weren’t going to be tested over the material, a couple of guys asked me questions. Also, I narrowly averted a disaster. I woke up at about 5 this morning (an hour before my alarm) and realized that I was supposed to give a Thursday lecture. For some reason, even though I knew all along that the lecture was on Thursday, it never occurred to me to prepare an hour and fifteen minutes of material, so I only had 50. I came to school a little early and threw some stuff together. It wasn’t as polished, but it came out ok, I think.
