Bonfire

The bonfire for Homecoming was Tuesday. In all the years my kids have gone to this school I have never gone to a bonfire…just had no desire to be there. But, with this being Stephen’s Senior year I felt like I needed to be there and wanted to see what it was all about. I am so glad I went!! If I had known how fun they are I would have been going all along. Just the whole atmosphere and excitement and kids running around so carefree playing.

They asked Jose’ once again to cook the hotdogs…which he loves to do. He would probably be offended if they didn’t ask him to do it.

The JV Cheerleaders served the free hot dogs and drinks. Here is Kaylyn with a couple of friends/cheerleaders.

The fire was so much bigger than I thought it would be. Even standing way back behind the yellow tape it was so hot. I don’t see how the cheerleaders stood as close as they did.

Here is Stephen with his class trying to out-yell the other classes. It got very loud!!

Another Senior boy’s mom and I after it was over.

I felt a little sad that night after we were home because it hit me that was Stephen’s last bonfire…I think he was a little sad too. There are so many lasts this year…things will feel so different next year with him gone.

Gotta go cook supper and do homework with Kinley…more later.

Looks like such a fun time. That fire is HUGE! I remember my senior year being filled with so many wonderful memories but sadness too because it was coming to an end.
