Bubble No. 66: Welcome to the Ouse of Hass Slap

Yep,  you read that right. Our apartment has officially been named "The Ouse of Hass Slap." *laughing* It’s been an amusing couple of days. Moving went very well, actually. By day two, we had just about all the essentials from everyone’s house moved into the apartment and put in place. (One of my bookcases is now in the living room and pleasantly over-stuffed with books. YAY!) Okami’s room is a bit bare, as we couldn’t get all of his furniture yet, but Neko and I are perfectly set with my bed, computer desk and bedside table. The living room is pleasantly arranged, at least in my opinion. We’ve got two armchairs, a floor cushion, my bookcase, Okami’s spify lamp and the entertainment center. (An actual entertainment center!) The kitchen’s actually great. ^_^ We got a really good-sized one, and my RavenMom gave us a neat little table which fits perfectly in a corner.

Everything hasn’t been unpacked and put away yet, but it’s getting there. Swords, posters, trinkets, books, games, videos, computers, CD players, stuffed animals, anime, manga and throw pillows are just a little of the various stuff we have scattered and tucked away. I really do love it. I want the place to be eccentric as hell. I want all of our personalities to leap out from every possible corner. I’m not sure why, but I think living in my parents’ house made me want a crazy apartment. I love my mother, but her style of decorating is so neatly organized, so coordinated and so tidy that it feels a little unwelcoming. None of my friends ever really felt welcome at my parents’ house. I want our apartment, the Ouse of Hass Slap, to feel warm, welcoming and friendly. So far, I’ve met with success.

My oni-chan, (adopted-ish little brother), came over Wed. with Okami. He was a big help getting things inside and arranged. We had him over for the night, and he shared our first home cooked dinner. (Rice and miso soup. *purr*) It was just nice with everyone walking around, talking, laughing. Even if I was dead tired from waking up at six in the morning on Tuesday, working to move all day, going to work in the afternoon, staying till eleven, going to my parents’ house to pack up my computer, sleeping there in a highly uncomfortable recliner, getting up at five in the morning and working all day. (Okami had it worse, poor dude. He worked graveyard Monday night-Tuesday morning, helped us move, then had to go back to work with me in the afternoon. Gaaaaaaah.) Neko and I went to bed early, as we were both really tired, while Okami and Oni-chan went for a walk. (To Hastings. *grin* We live really close to all the spify places in town.) Neko had to be up at six thirty for work, and I got to snuggle in for another couple of hours.

Fenshae came over to spend the day with Oni-chan and I. *grin* That was damn pleasant. Arranging books, watching ‘End of Days’ and making commentary, playing a plethora of Guitar Hero. Neko came home for lunch, we had sandwiches… I’d really forgotten how nice a relaxing day at home could be. Of course, poor Okami had to stay at his mother’s house for the afternoon. (No money, hole in tire, no gas… Yeah, he needed to be closer to work. We’re all looking rather eagerly towards payday.) However, he got uninterrupted sleep, and Neko and I got the house to ourselves for the evening. *grin* From everything I’d been told, ‘Spawn’ was supposed to be a  horrible movie. I rather enjoyed it. Maybe because I got to watch it curled up against Neko. *grin* That makes everything better. Now I’m at the 24 hour computer lab at NMSU with Fenshae, killing the wee hours of the morning so I can sleep during the day. (Graveyard shift tomorrow, bleh.) All in all, I’d say this moving thing is working out really, really well.

As for ‘The Ouse of Hass Slap,’ it’s funny the way things sound when you’re trying to laugh and talk at the same time. It was supposed to be ‘The House of Ass Slap,’ as that seems to be a sort of greeting amongst us. (Happens when you’re with a bunch of people all possessing quite slappable rears.) Seeing as how I was laughing at the time… Yep. ‘The Ouse of Hass Slap’ it is.

     And verily… Christ muffins.

Christ Muffins! I like the Ouse of Hasslap. I think it has a bright future of Freeholdiness. *sage nod* *looks around sneakily and quietly steals a certain Oni-chan, whistling innocently*

Love the name! Enjoy this day. 🙂
