Bubble No. 58: Post-Valentine’s Day Updateishness

So…yeah. *grin* Wild week it’s been.

Lemme see if I can manage to condense everything. For one, it’s been insanely busy in my little world. Every time I wake up, I hit the floor running and we’re on the GO! Who would have thought that being OUT of school would mean so much time running around, doing stuff, planning, working, more work, a little more work, and just when you thought you were done…more work! I certainly didn’t! *whew!* For one, the guys and I were trying to rent a three-bedroom trailer behind Ninja’s house, which involved doing a lot of cleaning, and running around to find out about electric, water, Internet, etc etc. *merf* That fell through due to a pressboard cabinet which had seen better centuries. (What I think actually happened was that the family really wanted to back out once they had prospective renters, and the cabinet was a good excuse.) So…more apartment hunting we’ve been doing. No luck in the most immediate area so far, so we’re ranging further afield. Tonight becomes the Cruces apartment hunt beginning! Whee!!! Got to see my RavenMom on Tuesday, though. That was fun. I took her a couple of wine coolers, as she’s been stressing lately and those are nice to just kick back and sip, and we talked for a couple of hours. She’s going to help me make baby blankets for the good news my brother got, (Which is, by the way, that my sister-in-law is pregnant with twins after years of them trying, and she’s safely made it past the 12 week danger point where the two previous pregnancies failed. Here’s hoping we get all the way with two healthy babies!) I’m going to pick out yarn, and since RavenMom loves making baby blankets, she volunteered. I think it’ll rock. I got to meet Binky, the puppy destroyer of worlds and snuggle the Lit’l Man. Then the guys needed me over, so I had to bolt. Next time I’ll get a longer visit in!

On top of that, work’s been hell these last two weeks. With Alan, our manager, being gone to Florida for the annual convention, and losing our other graveyard guy on top of losing two MORE people, Ninja, Gummi and I have been working overtime. (Which makes for very tired gamers, and not much actual gaming occuring thanks to said apartment hunting and work.) So our games haven’t progressed any further at the moment, with the guys working on a Neverwinter Nights White Wolf server, me helping design the city and modify rules, as well as me playing my plethora of characters and occasionally flinging a few words at a short story or two. Turns out that the article I edited for my father last year was accepted for publication by Reptiles magazine. Woot! Now all I need is the stats on that article and the date it will be published, and I’ll have a lovely addition to my resume.

Valentine’s Day was fun. ^_^ I got my present from Ninja a day early, as he couldn’t wait. It’s a beautiful heart-shaped Egyptian trinket box. (He remembered that I love boxes, and well…me and Egypt. It’s a natural thing. ^_^) I adore it. It’s on his altar in his room, along with my Thoth statue, as my room is NOT collectible friendly at the present time. He got himself a gorgeous Horus to go along with the Bast I gave him last year, and the Sekhmet he’s had for ages now. My V Day present to him is coming in the mail: a Sekhmet wall relief (Incredible!) and he’ll get that sometime soon. I got Gummi howling wolf decals for his new Bronco, and chocolates. Gummi being what he is, he likes the Japanese traditions, so on Valentine’s Day, I bought him truffles. On March 14th, White Day, he’ll give me chocolates that are double the worth of the ones I bought him. (WOOT!) After work, before Ninja had to head in for graveyard, we went to Cruces to see "Borat." *shudder* That was the most hilarious god-awful movie I’ve ever seen. And I mean ever. It was…*shudders again* Some of those mental images will just NOT die. *whimpers* But it was so bad it was good, and we went to the cheap theatre anyway. (We wanted to hit up "Hannibal Rising," but it started too late for Ninja to be able to snag some shut-eye before working.) That seen, we dashed to Best Buy and Hastings, goofed off a bit and headed back. Ninja and I dropped Gummi off at home (as his long-suffering car has finally given up the ghost, and he didn’t buy the Bronco until last night) and then headed to Ninja’s house.

…*grin* And yeah, Ninja and I are dating. It was just one of those things that happened. Two Sagittarian pookas, what’d ya expect? *laughing* We’d been snuggly for months now, and with those kisses that’d been getting more and more frequent lately, and then a couple of "real" kisses on Monday…it was kind of overdue. ^_^ I am not complaining. He’s been mah dude for years, my best friend for months, and now he’s my boyfriend. (That’s going to take some getting used to. ^_^!) However, we just…it’s difficult to say, really…but there’s no sense of him being disappointed in me, ashamed of me… I don’t get the lingering suspicion that he wishes I was someone else, or that he’s just passing time until he can find something better. (Gummi and I thought maybe he was just sweet on me ’cause I was the only thing female in the close vicinity, but Ninja pointed out to both of us that he’s had other girls before, and finding them isn’t very hard for him.) So now I’m a ninja’s pooka gal, and it’s nice and mellow. (And dear gods above, that guy can kiss. *purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*)

And now, despite having had a horrible cold for days, being achy from said cold, and having a swollen, sore lip due to taking a swan dive into the dirt and attempting, through such, to French kiss a rock, I’m doing quite well. Now laundry, a little role-playing, some bloody Hunter and ice call my name until Gummi and Ninja get off work.
