Ten Things I Wish I Could Say To Ten Different People Right Now
1. I love you, but if you don’t start opening up, we’re going to have serious issues.
2. Please understand that I realize you’re a nice person, and all you want out of life is for everyone in this office to love you and think you’re wonderful; however, if you don’t start to respect my personal space, learn that if my back stays to you it’s because I’m busy, learn how to chew quietly/not smack your food if you insist on eating at your desk all day, or learn that tooting your own horn incessantly/rubbing my inadequacies in my face is NOT a good way to make me happy, you’re going to end up seeing more than my sarcastic, slightly rude side.
3. You mean the world to me. You’re like a sister, and I understand that you are busy and don’t always have time to talk to me. I certainly don’t hold that against you. Just don’t be surprised when I feel a little left out of your life, and it shows in how I behave around you.
4. I understand you are tired and lonely, but I can’t mold my life around yours to suit your every need. That includes having other things to do from time to time, as well as not being as neat and tidy as you think I should be.
5. I appreciate that you’re starting to tell me more often when things are going on that I should know about, but now I need you to give me more regular updates, so when something drastic occurs, I’ll not be mowed to the ground by it.
6. Sometimes I absolutely hate you. You are manipulative, selfish, and completely irresponsible. The only thing that I hate more than you is the fact that I have little to no right to say anything to you about it.
7. I wish I could be your mother.
8. Not everything is as it seems, but some things are exactly as they seem. Stop being so sure that you always know which is which. Half the time, you’re wrong.
9. Please stop communicating with me. You’re the reason why I don’t even speak to your son anymore. If I didn’t respect his feelings for you, I’d have told you off long ago. Oh…and stop acting like I’m still going to someday be a part of your family. You ruined that years ago.
10. Nepotism is frowned upon in most offices. I wouldn’t brag about the fact that it runs rampant in yours. It only makes you look bad, especially since I know that you pay family members and friends FAR more than what they are worth while paing valuable team members the bare minimum they need to survive.
Nine Things About Myself
1. I’m an only child.
2. I still call myself an English major, though I have not completed my bachelors degree.
3. I’m too smart for my own good, and what’s worse…I know how smart I am. It makes me arrogant.
4. In my opinion, hoodies are God’s gift to mankind.
5. I’m a Texan, and I’m damn proud of it. That said, don’t assume much else about me just because of where I was born and raised. There are only a few stereotypes of Texans that apply to me, and that’s something else I’m damn proud to say.
6. I love food. I love eating it, watching it being prepared, smelling it…everything. Well, except cooking. I fear cooking. I’m actually pretty good at it, but I’m still extremely afraid of ruining a dish.
7. I’ve recently become a fan of the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. It’s both a point of shame and joy for me, and dealing with that has become an interesting burden.
8. My nose is quite small. I think it looks cute and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but it’s a pain in the backside since looking at it funny makes it clog up, and I almost have to think about breathing to make sure I do. It’s a tad too small I guess.
9. Music is my inspiration.
Eight Ways To Win My Heart
1. Take me out to a zoo or museum.
2. Be patient and understanding when you ask me to make a decision, and I say ‘I don’t care.’ While I am indecisive, I also want to make sure you get a chance to have your way.
3. If I say I like a band a lot, and you don’t, at least let me listen to some of their songs when they come on the radio.
4. Pay attention to the things I say I love, and then spontaneously surprise me with one of them.
5. Show up unexpectedly from time to time.
6. Go on trips with me. I love to travel…even to places I’ve already been.
7. Be touchy feely (not as in always sucking face, but as in touching my hand or my back frequently). I’m a physical person and won’t believe you even care otherwise.
8. Be open…minded, communicatively…in every way.
