New number, not much change

So I’m rather amused by the concept of a ‘new year.’ Many people try to differentiate their years by making resolutions or something along those lines. I’m pretty content with my life as it is. Yes, there are things I would like to change about myself, but I’m not going to do them simply because I bought a new calendar. I’ll do them when I’m emotionally and mentally committed to the idea of change. That time isn’t now though, so I’ll make my ‘resolution’ or whatever some other day.

The last of Christmas arrived on our doorstep this morning. Matt’s hockey jersey only just now got here. You know, the one I ordered a couple weeks before Christmas. Unfortunately, he’ll have to wait until next weekend to get it. He’s sick this weekend, and with me not sleeping well, I can’t send myself into a sick room. I’ll just get sick, too. OH, and on that sleeping note…I did my sleep study Wednesday night. Since I can’t sleep well, they decided to see if I sleep better with wires and leads taped and glued to me…on camera. Actually, the people were nice, and I didn’t sleep that much worse than normal. I did find out the hard way that my skin reacts poorly to the adhesive on medical tape. I’ve got rashes and burns on my legs, neck, and chest. Nothing too bad, and they’ve mostly faded…they just burn like hell.

I really need to do laundry……..

I’ve never done a sleep study per se but I’ve had awake and sleeping EKGs done and they are NOT fun. *hugs* Sorry your honey is sick. I hope they figure out what’s up with you. And since neither of us does the new year thing… happy regular day!

Yeah, I can’t imagine sleeping with all those medical wires strapped to you like you’re hooked into the Matrix, or something like that, would make for better rest. But, Hey! At least we know you’re allergic to something else, now. 🙂 -Mike
