Decided to join…

DIRECTED TOO THEATER AND PERFORMING ARTS CIRCLE:

Hey everyone! This circle is soooo lonely=( It seems like there are only 2 people who update religiously. If youre involved in theater than i know that there is some sort of drama going on, because theater people are dramatic. I know, deny it, we all do, but its just a fact of life. lol. Anyway. I thought i had joined this circle a while back and i was looking at my circles and realized that i didnt?! Im going to tell you a little bit about myself, so then im not a total stranger when i post entries. Ok here goes nothing..beware the word I is used a lot…

Ive been involved in theater since high school.
In high school I never got casted for mainstage shows, i mainly did TECH work and assistant directed.
I still occassionally talk to my high school theater director
I got offered a scholarship at a junior college to do there theater program
i turned it down
I got offered another scholarship for theater at a university
I turned it down too
After running away from theater, i realized i couldnt live without it
So i went to a different college and was given scholarships to do their theater program
The first show i did in college was Grease, i played marty, that was in 2002
The second show i did in college was Oliver, I played Charlotte. Summer 2003
The third show ive done is Little Shop of Horros, Chiffon, fall 2003
The Fourth show Suessical, Gertrude, fall 2004
The Fifth Show   Nunsense, Sister Amnesia
Several variety shows, and my next to audition for is INTO THE WOODS
I met my boyfriend in Grease the musical
he doesnt DO theater as he says, he usually plays guitar in the orchastra or band
I have only met a couple of really good friends that i talk to outside of the shows
Usually you meet people in shows and when its over your not as close and disbond
I still get nervous right before a show opens
I want to do theater professionally but there is no market in it for texas
i REFUSE to be a theater teacher, all the ones ive had has had to put up with hell, id rather give it..LOL
I know theatrical terms, center stage, stage right, you know…
Ive worked lights, sound tech, stagehand, assistant director, and ive made costumes

I honestly believe it theater wasnt in my life than i wouldnt be the person that i am today. It gives you the confidence you need in REAL LIFE situations such as talking in front of groups and whatnot. Theater people always have their drama in the theater in one way or another..and i love it. Not neccesarily the drama drama, but the fact that an actor can get so upset and hate a show while its going on but then after its over and a month later they talk about it, they absolutely loved every minute of it. =) Its great.

My auditions for into the woods is may 29th, 30th, and 31st. There are about 150 people trying out for the show and as you know there is a cast of about 15-20. No chorus numbers, just purely you get a part or you dont. YEAH! So im nervous and whatnot. haha. This is one of my absolute favorite shows. =) Parts that im going to tryout for include: Cinderella and Little Red Riding hood. I know that if there is someone there thats younger and can sing the parts then she will probably be casted as little red, but then again if he casts Cinderella as someone mid twenties (you never know with my director) than it may be a different story. Either way, either part, thats what i would like. If not, then i may have to break someones leg literally..LOL! Just kidding. Im not a bad sport= So thats whats mainly going on. Im going to keep everyone posted in this circle!! im going to try and update in here too…..
