South Korea

I didn’t sub today.  I got a new badge from one district and went to check out teaching in South Korea.

The Korean job would be more like an immersion program for the Korean students.  The job sounded interesting.  I am going to look into it further.  If I decide to do it, I would leave in August for a year.  I would have my son check on the house while I am away.  The job pays $25,000/year and includes room, board, AND insurance.  Another perk:  I could visit my daughter and her family; they have an assignment there this summer!  I think it would be such an adventure to teach in South Korea.  I could stay here and still be unemployed.

It is very cold outside.

Have a great night!

It might be a nice adventure. You have to be careful eating the food over there though. Sometimes they serve mystery meat and it might not agree with you. That’s what I’ve heard, anyway.

When you say you would have insurance, do you mean medical insurance? Teaching in South Korea is definitely something to consider. From what you’ve shared, I’ve gathered that you enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. You might really like an adventure such as this. It’s good that you have some time to weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

That might be just the thing for you. But make sure you check it out thouroughly. A member of our church did a gig like that in China several years ago. She loved it. Don’t know if she ever came back.
