We’re lookin’ hip now
So I’m super glad I went to Tammy’s going away party! It was really nice to be able to see her, plus I got to meet her boyfriend who is nice and a good mix of cute and handsome. =) A funny thing happened, too. I know generally where Tammy’s house is, but it was more difficult to find it in the dark, so when I walked up to the front door I had to talk to a bunch of people sitting outside to see if I was at the right place. I couldn’t see anyone’s face, but then a guy stood up, shouted my name happily, and hugged me. It was Fabby! I’ve met Fabby on like five separate occasions, the first being in the dining hall freshman year when he still went by William (all his friends know him as Fabby because he’s super gay haha), but each time he forgets that he’s met me and reintroduces himself. This time he remembered! So I went inside with him and ran into Betsey, who was the one kind enough to alert me that Tammy’s roomies were planning this party. I hugged her, too, and then Tamara! So many hugs! This is thrilling because I am not the kind of person who hugs as a greeting…but these came so naturally it was almost scary. I was planning to only stay a little while, but I ended up staying until everyone either left or was getting ready to go to IHOP. We played the card game Pit, which half of us had never played, and had a lot of fun shouting at each other. =)
My cousin had her baby on the 16th! Grant Tyler is his name and he is her fourth child. Kelly and Tyler will be visiting Colorado with Grant at the beginning of August, which is the perfect excuse for the Johannes clan to come together and celebrate. There’s going to be a party on the 4th and I’m hoping I’ll be able to get that day off.
Another cousin, Arianna, just moved back from Phoenix, so we’re planning to get together for drinks tonight and do something else fun on Tuesday. =)
So, that shooting in Aurora…sick. I felt bad, because I hadn’t heard about the event and didn’t have my phone on until my first break at work yesterday. When I did turn it on I saw a bunch of worried texts from my mom. I called her right away and had her explain what had happened. How terrifying that must have been. =(
