Yay!

Good news everyone!

I got a new camera!!  My old one’s LCD screen got all messed up somehow (not by me dropping it), and made anything on it completely undiscernible from shards of light.  So luckily, my extended warranty kicked in on June 12, so Mum and I went down to Staples on the 13th (her birthday) to get it exchanged.  We ended up finding one that’s basically the same thing, only an updated version, AND it’s blue!!  My favourite!  And it cost EXACTLY the same amount as mine had the first time, both on sale.  Pretty wicked.

First picture on the new camera, is anyone surprised??

As for the rest of my life, Melanie’s birthday was on Tuesday, so I went out for dinner with her and a bunch of people, including Grace.  kevin 'n' me at dinner

She had called the day before asking if I wanted to hang out beforehand, and also if I wanted to go to a movie with her, Jennifer (Alicia’s sister) and her boyfriend Kevin (Sarah’s brother…confusing hey?) afterwards.  All of that happened!  Except that the movie ended up being with Charles and Melanie along as well, and I ended up next to Charles instead of Grace   He shared his popcorn though, so it wasn’t a complete loss!

After the movie, Jennifer drove me home, and while she was taking a picture of me and Kevin (her boyfriend, not Alicia’s, stay with me kids), we noticed a kitten walking up towards the van.  So we got pictures with the kitty as well haha.  When I went inside my house, the kitten followed me and tried to come in with me, poor thing.

You just wish you photographed this well.

So all in all, not a bad evening!!  It was a bit weird for a while though.  Because okay, at the mall, Grace and I sort of broke off from the rest of the group (Charles mysteriously showed up at the mall, as well as Amanda and her boyfriend Jeremy), walking ahead of them and eventually going to the bathroom together because she wanted to talk to me about something apparently.  She was all like "There’s something, and I don’t know what to do about it…" and in my head I was like "Ohhhh please let it be that she doesn’t know whether to ask me out or not, please please please"….but of course it wasn’t.  So anyway, once we were on our own, this is the convo as best I remember it:
Grace: Kyron asked me to prom.
Me: Wait…WHAT?
G: Yeah…he said he didn’t realize we WEREN’T going together…
M: Gimme a break!
G: I know, I think he’s lying but yeah…
M: But I thought you were going with Charles?
G: Yes, but…
M: So don’t go with Kyron!  Say no!  Is he an idiot as well as a wanker?
G: Yeah….I dunno what to do…

By that time we were back amongst everyone else and she told me not to say anything about it, but I couldn’t resist saying "Why don’t you just go with me??  That’ll solve all the problems!"  Because you see…she never wanted to go with Charles in the first place, she just didn’t want to be mean and say no to him.  And Kyron is her douche of an ex-boyfriend, that dumped her…TWICE.  Anyway, she said "Yes…it would…"  You should know that she actually suggested once that she should just go with me, cuz it’d be more fun anyway.  And on another occasion, she said even if I didn’t go WITH her, I should come as a guest or something at least.  Anyway, I mentioned it was a bit weird for a while…well, that’s because Grace got pretty quiet after we talked and all through dinner and the movie and afterwards she looked sort of upset.  She hardly smiled at dinner when I had the whole table laughing, so that kinda sucked.  I hope she gets over it soon and this girl comes back:

on her birthday last year :)

aw, she’s purty. wait a minute… are you hanging out with high schoolers?

June 14, 2007

Yes I agree– are you hanging with high schoolers? Or is it a different kind of prom?

June 15, 2007

ryn: nah i can’t fault you for hanging out with grace even if she hasn’t gotten out of high school yet, soon though right? so then it’ll be fine.

Ohhh, eew, Dartmouth. Do NOT move to Dartmouth. You WILL regret it. Do you really want to live in a city with such unfortunate nicknames as “D-Town”, “The Darkside” and “Dirty D”? If anything, move to Hali and take the ferry across the harbour… Is this program at the new waterfront campus or Akerley? Please don’t say Akerley. I’d feel far too awful for you. In case you haven’t figured it

out, I live in Dartmouth. Dartmouth sucks. And yes, my entry title was a reference to the Joel Plaskett song. Also, that girl IS super cute!
