Sugar High

Halloween isn’t a big deal here. There are hardly any children walking the streets and it’s not very common for people to give out candy. I am a sucker for celebrations though.

Last year we lived in a small army community that hosted a Halloween trail. My son was two at the time and very shy – it was a very isolating town and I think it hindered his social skills a lot. We walked down to the green belt of trees behind the housing area as a family. Holding one of his hands each. By the end of the trail, he was in tears.

This year we live in a new town and went to a ‘light party’ that the local church held. It was spectacular. There were at least eight bouncy castles, games, a photo booth, pizza, and a maze. My son eager to do everything. He ran around and all of a sudden isn’t so shy. This town has changed us.

We are different.

We are ending our night watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – giddy with the last of our sugar high.

I have noticed that every place I have lived in was different then the one before because of the class of people that live there.  This is why our attitudes change hopefully for the better.

Halloween is always done up big in my area! people spend thousands on decorations… some even make their homes into haunted houses for the day. I love it
