a couple counters… *edit*

i’m not gonna go out and create 2 counters for these two things… but they’re things i’m counting down til.

1) we open the show next saturday (Jan 30).  i’m excited, and at the same time worried… a lot going on in this show and its my first time on stage since i got here in PIttsburgh.  i want to prove myself, and i feel like i am, but i also kinda feel like i have a long way to go.  we’ll see.

tomorrow (er… rather today) is the Sitzprobe (first sing through with the orchestra).  should be interesting.  monday we’re in the theatre in full costume.  that’ll be a little hair raising, it always is.  trying to figure out sight-lines, and whether or not our staging will actually work with the set.

luckily here at Pittsburgh (and Seattle was the same way) we have a rehearsal area big enough that we can build a mock set (or simply put the set together) in the rehearsal room and practice on a full scale model (or the actual set).  however, when you get to the theater, you now have to worry about the legs that cover the wings, and the space you have offstage to get around, or the crossovers for getting from one side of the stage to the other.  it’ll be interesting.  lol

2) KITTY!  my kitty will be here the following week after we open.  i’m really excited.  i’ve bought a kitty litter box, food, a cat carrier, and a scratching pad.  i’m trying to figure out the best way to help her feel comfortable… so i’m trying to find her a few hiding places around my apartment.  i figure when she gets here, i’ll keep her in the carrier (its much bigger than she is) for a little bit and let her aclimate to the space.  then i’ll let her out and show her the kitty litter, water and food, then let her explore.  Dan says she’s very friendly, so i’m guessing that she’ll be more interested in exploring than being afraid.  we’ll see.

either way i’m super excited!  i don’t know if i’ll get her the day they arrive, or the day after.  probably get her sooner rather than later.  🙂

couple other things going on…  i’m trying very hard to move on.  some days are easier than others.  so much of my problems come from being alone all the time.  maybe that’s a bad reason to get a cat… but… oh well.

i’ve been working out and already have lost about 10 lbs.  i’ve been lifting weights and walking on the treadmill downstairs.  it feels really good, but i’ve been seriously sore.  i’ll probably hold off while the show is going.  hopefully i can keep the momentum going.  at my doctor’s appointment while i was home i found that my blood pressure is high, and my resting pulse has been high as well.  normally both are lower for me, so keeping this going is gonna be good for me.

that’s about all i have.  sorry i haven’t been noting.  i’ve been reading, but keeping in the shadows mostly.  thank you so much for all the wonderful notes you’ve left me!  i will return the favor soon!

i forgot to write about this.  Nocturnal State and i were talking about names the other night.  we came up with Aria, and i liked Poco.  i think either of them would be cute.  i don’t know…  there were some other ones we said, but i can’t remember them.  Aria and Poco are the only two that stuck out in my mind.  *shrugs* so there you have it.

Noah there are quite a few positives there for you – I’m really pleased! Don’t worry about the kitty kat – I’m sure you will be an excellent father! – Lots has already gone into your preparation! Good luck with the rehearsals you are doing for your opening performance – I’m sure you will go great!

Good luck with the opening. I’ll be helping my brother move to his new apartment that day. whee. anyway, his new apartment complex has a fitness center so I’ll also be utilizing that! I’m excited about that. 🙂 take care. ~♥~

I don’t think your kitty is a “Mary”- have you though of changing her name? Any ideas? =)

Me too! Cereal for every meal of the day! I think it should be a rule. 🙂

As far as kitty and a hiding space, I suggest a random empty box. You could always decorate it if you don’t want an eyesore lying around. Cats LOVE empty boxes. My cat who isn’t hiding from anybody just lays around in his box all day with his blanket. His “blanket” is actually one of my sweaters that I can’t wear now because the 20 pounds of cat hair will never come off. lol

Don’t forget the countdown to the Pittsburgh Half on May 2, homeboy!!! You better use your opera lungs to cheer me on, I’m gonna need it! 🙂

You don’t go with simple names for animals, do you? Lol, good luck with the re-naming her, though. 🙂

you could call her Carmen. I love/hate sitzprobes! Hope yours went well!

🙂 Both names are cute. I would make sure she has a toy, though, or she’ll find something to use as one. Good for you on the exercise! I have no motivation for that, and admire people who do.
