Exteme to the max! *EDIT*

no, i didn’t pick that title for a good reason… just couldn’t think of anything else.

sang for some major agents today!  i think i did well, however:  you know how your voice feels after you’ve thrown up a few times?  all scratchy and hurty?  well, thats how my voice has felt the last two days, and no, its not because i’m becoming bulimic…  its just that the acid reflux is getting so bad, it makes it feel like i have been.

not good.

the worst part is, i called Walgreen’s to see how much it would cost to fill my perscription for Nexium without insurence…  $170!  for 30 pills!!!!  i mean… HOLY FUCKING SHITE!  i definitely do not have that kind of money.

anyway, i sang the boheme aria today, and also Una furtiva lagrima.  i think that despite the voice, i did pretty well.  and they seemed to like me.  i don’t expect anything to come of it, but i’m glad i did it.

thats really it.  lol  i have nothing to write about.  i guess i could write about the children’s opera we’re working on, but that would be boring i think…

um… i bought organic butter toffee peanuts at Whole Foods today.  very much good.

speaking of…  this Whole Foods opened up about 2 blocks from the rehearsal studio.  its a great place to get a good lunch.  we’ve been going there often.  not to mention the fabulous products the sell, and, well….  the confectionary section is to die for.  *slobbers*

again… back to nothing.  lol

uh oh… gonna geek out for a moment.

so when i have nothing to do (in between practicing and sleeping) i usually play World of Warcraft.  yes… i’m a super geek.  but i’ve come to terms with this so you can DEAL!  anyway, i had to cancel my subscription because i didn’t have the $15 to spend for this month.  needless to say, i’ve been very bored.  lol  i guess i could play a little xbox, but… i’ve beaten all my games (i think) so as much fun as it would be to start something over, i need something to relax my mind.  lol

so, long story short… i miss my WOW.  *sigh*

okay, i’m done making my opinion of me drop in your minds.  lol  later!

*EDIT*

so, i need to make something clear.  i realized that i geeked out in this entry, however i didn’t fully explain my relationship with WOW.

i play when the mood strikes me.  but rarely do i come home and say "i NEED to play WOW."  now, i know many people that have trouble when it comes to stop playing.  not the case for me.  now, i don’t mean to be overly combative about this… but i must admit that i have a hard time with people who just play and play, wasting good years of their life.  granted, i also understand why someone would.

it is a good escape and opportunity to be something you’ve never been before.  and for those that have been repressed or felt the blunt end of the "popularity" system in this country, they can break out of that and show who they really are without fear of backlash.

but beyond that its a way to play out your dreams and and imagination.  so i understand that aspect of it.  however giving your life up for it… making your life actually about the game rather than whats outside… thats what bothers me.

but to each their own.

anyway, i’m done ranting.  lol

Hurrah!!

January 14, 2007

My brothers are obsessed with World of Warcraft!!! I had to spend an hour watching them play while we waiting for the others to arrive for our poker night last night…

January 14, 2007

the girls have this little rule during lunch time at work, no speaking of WOW. :-p

Hey, thanks for the note! Thank you for the encouragement, it’s so hard, I’ve got so much on my mind (-_-). Wow, opera, I don’t meet many people who sing opera(I don’t meet (m)any people actually) but way cool! I played WoW, I’ve since quit. There are a lot of free2play substitutions out there if you are bored enough, but nothing really compares. P.S. I have a special dislike for drug companies ->

<- I'm currently stuck taking an anti-depressant, Effexor XR (severe side effects if I stop taking it long enough) something I've always been terrified of, sigh. If I lost my insurance I would be totally screwed. It's about $170 for 30 pills as well. Maybe I should move to Canada *thinks* Take care, thanks again.

i know you probably know this ok but buttermilk will totally help reflux i have it helps nasty as hell but it does help….and as far as playing hey everyone needs an outlet to an extent take care

organic butter toffee peanuts sound good. i want some. xxxx

All of us are geeks at times. I play too. I completely agree with you though on some people go too far. And BTW what do you mean “interesting”? Do you not like Joseph Mahowald? Or something to do with my childlike naivity with singing and not always doing so well?

January 14, 2007

seriously…no need to explain. i feel the same way about the most violent and dirty game on the planet – grand theft auto. i haven’t played it in a long time though now that i have no pc to play it on. 😉 and i’m a girl!! lol

RYN: lol Unless you have a 5 month old daughter and just up and decided to offically change her name to Avelyn then no lol it’s not you

It shows that you aren’t completly addicted by not skimming the $15 off of some other bill, instead you’re going with out and though it stinks, you did it. In other news, I watched the movies. Back to back. LOL No really, I stopped for sleep, food and a few errands here and there. They were awesome!!!! However, WHERE THE HELL WAS TOM???? God!! I could nit pick through it all but …

…Return of the King was the most disturbing. SO MUCH was changed. But over all, they were brilliant. I saw the extended versions. My boyfriend pointed out a few scenes that he hadn’t seen before but I cant remember which ones they were now. Oh and all the romance made me want to vomit. That was hollywood all the way.

NERD! I am glad that the singing went well but sorry to hear about your voice! Enjoy the day off today… I hope you have the day off anyway…

Alot of my guy friends are obsessed with WOW. My friend’s older brother who is turning 30 btw, is obsessed and was almost on level 60 last night. I don’t really understand it, or WANT to understand it.

January 15, 2007

🙂 I’ve never played but I’ve heard great things about it. I might try it someday, but I can get addicted in spurts. I just bought Dragon Quest VIII, and Kingdom Hearts I & II before Christmas as my present to me. What a guy I am. I’m better than Santa. LOL! So I do like my RPGs and somethings I veg for a day or two playing as I did at the end of the break. But it’s all good for me. 🙂

January 15, 2007

Now I’m back to work, but every other day I play for a couple of hours. That’s about all the time I can afford right now. I’ve been spending “free” time with friends and the rest of my time has to be spent working and teaching. 🙂 *HUG*

January 16, 2007

Yeah, Nexium is beyond ridiculously expensive. 🙁 Are there any other options for you out there that are cheaper? Like maybe something with a generic form, per chance?

January 16, 2007

NR: LOL! I played FFI on the Nintendo Entertainment System and loved it. 🙂 Then, I might have played a little of the later ones on the NES or Super Nintendo, but it wasn’t until FFX that I had a PS2 and was back into gaming as a hobby. After beating that I played FFVIII for a bit, but I’ve heard FFVII was the best. I may check them out some day. Who knows?

January 16, 2007

But I really love the real-time battles like in StarOcean: Till the End of Time and in the adventure style like Ratchet & Clank. The Kingdom Hearts games are a nice cross between RPG and the Final Fantasy games. I haven’t seen FFXII, but I won’t get it for at least six month until I can spend less money on it. 🙂
