It Has Been A Day

Well it has been a day….I came home this morning my Dad was in the shower. My mom told me he had been complaining all weekend about his left leg. When he came out of the shower he asked me to cut his toenails which is normal and I told him I would. He got in his chair and raised his leg up which was Blue (dark Blue) on his entire foot. Mom said it wasn’t like that all weekend it was the same as it was Friday evening-Sunday. I talk to her several times in a weekend when I am gone. We called the cardiologist and left word for him to call. When he NEVER did we called his Primary Care Doc and he stated to take him directly to ER which we were ready to do anyways. They got him comfortable at the local hospital then transported him HOT to the T-Town E.R. since time was of the essence to save his foot. Well after 3 hours in the ER AGAIN, Another Doc FINALLY came in. I told her that we had been there for NOW 3 1/2 hours and we were told that time was of the essence if his foot was to be saved. SHe stated that the muscle had already started to breakdown and she talked to him a few minutes. Left and within 10 minutes the cardiac surgeon was in the room. I guess I should have gotten mad sooner. Anyways he stated that they had to get the therapeutic coumadin out of his system which they were working on by the shot in his belly from the other hospital. They hung a bag of plasma and gave him some more Vit. K. He was then moved to CICU. They will try to do the angioplasty in the morning by 7 a.m. if not sooner to try to safe the foot. He is throwing PVC’s and having a very irregular heart rate. We had to run home and get the Living Will for him to re-sign and get it in effect before he goes to surgery in the morning. They stated that he was critical and they didn’t know how things were going to go. My oldest Brother will be flying in and get here at 12:30 tomorrow afternoon because no other flight was available. My little brother is driving in from Texas and will be here tonight. My oldest sister stated to call when he was out of surgery. My middle sister called crying stating she could not come (from California) she was in bed flat on her back from being at he docs all day today. They think she might have colon cancer she stated and was on so many meds to knock her out she couldn’t function. I told her son that I would let him know tomorrow how things went and he would likewise with her tomorrow. The youngest sister didn’t even call so meh…
The 3 sisters are from my Dad’s first marriage. My "Dad" raised us from when we were little so he is the only Dad I know. It is a shame HIS own kids do not think enough of him like we do. BUt anyways, I do not know when I will be back online with all this going on. Kerry and I were suppose to leave Friday for Colorado at his rate that is out now. I told Kerry he could go or re-schedule his vacation but I doubt if I could go now. He understood and went back up to the hospital with us this afternoon after I brought Mom home to get something to eat and get the Living Will. I LOVE that man for being so caring right now and understanding. ANyways night to you all or have a great day and hugssssssss. Will be back when I can
