YAYAYAY WOOHOO!

 

I got the call yesterday morning! They accepted me for the position as Store Room Clerk in the Receiving Department at my old job. Sweet! I started yesterday at noon. Now, this isn’t my old position, this is a different one for now. I’ll be working under the Receiving Supervisor Ron and my old boss Joanne from the Shipping Department. For now anyways. Once it gets busy enough that they need the jobs to be separate, then I just have to bid on the Shipping Clerk position and it’s mine. That’s why they posted the position on Craisglist and why I had to reapply. I understand it now, but it still sucks.

So now it’s back to getting up at about 4:30 when I have the kids, and 5:30 when I don’t. Why the extra hour when I have them? Well, I need about an hour in the morning to wake up fully and get going. Then when I have the kids I have to get them up too and bring them to daycare. It’s nice that they still have the same daycare they had before. Way easier than having to look for a new one, and I love this lady a lot. She’s so good with the kids and her and I can talk about anything, whether work-related or not.

I would’ve wrote this last night, but I was so busy catching up on housework that I had thought about doing yesterday during the day, but since I was working, I had to put it off. Which is completely fine with me! I’m glad to be back to work. Everyone welcomed me back and my boss told me multiple times that she’s so glad I’m back. It’s so nice to feel wanted and needed and appreciated and PRODUCTIVE again! I know my kids want me and need me and appreciate me, well, most of the time, but it’s different when it’s work. I love my job and I’m so glad to be back to doing it.

Everything I use to do there started coming back to me almost immediately. There are a few things that I had to catch back up on, and there are going to be a few new duties added to my list for a while, but I think I’ll be okay. We’re not too terribly busy as of yet, so I’m not getting overwhelmed yet.

A big bonus to being back? Hopefully the 10 pounds I’ve gained in the past 5 months from being laid off and at home will shed right off as I’m walking back and forth across the plant again. Haha! I remember when I first started there, after it got busy, within about 2 months I had lost 15 pounds just from walking all over the plant every day.
