Day 46..Cambridge and Bishops Stortford.. 47 start

46 still felt queasy much of the day, but am happy to report at the start of Sunday, day 47…that I feel much better and ready to resume the good times. But yesterday…..

Yesterday I tarried in Cambridge after taking the bus from Bedford, found an Internet cafe and followed the soccer, Argyle impressively won again 1 nil home to Rochdale. Maybe that’s what put me right! Cambridge was flat, had many cyclists, parks and churches. Weather occasional rain, cooler, which suited me. Then caught the 1640 National Express coach to Bishops Stortford. Well I actually got off at Stansted Airport and took public transport to the Days Inn. This is where I recuperated. A newish motel, very comfortable and reasonably priced. I remember staying in one in Kansas. Had a good nights rest, although I did wake up for a couple of hours and use the I-pad. The services area was just a short walk away so I got some healthy food and took it back to my room.

Memo to self….EAT HEALTHIER AND MORE SLOWLY. That’s my mother’s voice I hear inside my head! This stopover has really got me back on track. No more nausea.

47 nice leisurely brekkie at services. Low carb English breakfast. Leisurely packed, lovely long shower in Motel, and went out after check out to wait for public transport bus number 308. Met some people from Glasgow who had stayed the night in the service area, couldn’t get in at Days Inn. Couldn’t understand them very well because of the Scottish accent. Then through check in and baggage checks, no problem, and am now waiting for my departure gate number to be shown on the Information. Flight to Copenhagen takes off at 1515 hrs.

Have done most of bookings now through the rest of my holiday, except for my last night in Copenhagen, 2 further nights in Berlin,  the train between Berlin and Zurich. San Francisco’s all booked. Hope the fires are under control by then, 9th September.

Ok, hope alls well in your worlds, catch you later….

Nice to know your feeling better, I’ve been to Berlin and it is a big city – and feels it! I visited the ‘Museum of the Wall’ and found it fascinating, I also went to the ‘Jewish Museum’ very impressive but I left it wondering where they are, all detail but no feel for the people; perhaps it was just me. Have a good time every where ……

I’m glad you recovered your health. Not easy to do on a road trip.

ah, it’s tough to eat well when traveling. it’s funny, we had such a good time camping and cooking our own food. you can eat so much better when you can cook for yourself. while it’s fun to do restaurants and fancy hotels and such, I can only do the eating out thing for awhile. hope you’re finding food that is a bit easier on you, and more fun. 🙂 keep on trekking…. 🙂
