realize

The water somehow sounded heavier as the sun sunk deeper in the distance.  Sitting on the sand she pulled her knees in tighter as the world around her became dark.  Uncertain about her future she sat there searching.  Searching for a direction, knowing all along the only direction she could go is forward.  But the fear of not knowing what she was moving forward towards left her body paralyzed.  Night came, the waves hit the shore, with the moon reflecting off the water, she sat there. Helpless.

Then tomorrow came.  The sunlight spread over the water and she opened her eyes to watch it.  Still unsure where her life would lead, she stood.  The only way to find out where life is going, is to live it.  With one step at a time, she was moving forward.  No longer holding onto her fear.  The feeling was impossible to discribe.  It was like, the moment a bird realizes it can fly.

All she had to do was let go of her fear…

and realize she could fly.
