This is my island

I found a house.

it sits on 6.5 acres and it is right next to the Maumee St. Forrest….. It has a 1 acre pond, a 30×60 pole barn, a 12x 20 green house… and produce stand at the road(with electricity).

the house is 3 beds and 3 baths with 1800 sqft. It is a log cabin style house( real wood, not that synthetic shit!) with a rap around porch and it was built in 2001.

the owner says he gets between 30 and 60 a day from the produce stand because its on one of the few roads that runs all the way into Toledo without having to turn off…. He just stocks it every mourning and leaves to go do whatever it is hes got to do….. People just come by and put money in the lock box.

I think the first thing i will buy is a hat….seems unnatural to own such a property without some kind of fully rimmed hat available.

he is leaving all the gardening equipment…. and his wood working tools….and 1000 board feet of Cherry wood, Cedar, Oak…..not that I know how to use any of that…..but i will learn………maybe i will make a guitar.

The owner is a retired carpenter…he retired in 2000 and built all this from nothing…he cleared the entire land except for the north line of the property  that the stream runs through…..i guess the animals travel along this stream from one forest to the the other…

I guess his wife died two years ago……I guess he is moving to Tennessee with his son…..the place is too much for one old man by himself….too lonely he said………Kinda sad….

but i will pick it up where he left off…. I told him to stop back any time and teach me how to field dress a deer…..I guess there are a lot that come around……….. but i have never hunted before and after pulling the trigger i would have no clue on what to do with it….so the deer are safe…..for now.

But i can fish….the pond is spring fed and has been fully stocked.

Next spring I will plant a 1 acre vineyard. I am going to attempt to make my own wine…Merlot and Cab blend……i wont need an acre of grapes…but you can sell the rest to real vineyards around the area.

i will also raise bees….because honey is good and the bee suits are pretty cool……..and you can make beer out of it….its also a great cure for allergies….not that i have any.

i feel like i also should buy a bow and arrow….

and a remote control boat

i dont own any flannel shirts…..need at least 4 of those.

and a good quality knife

its a good thing i only work 3 -12 hour shifts a week at the hospital…..i have a feeling that this stuff is going to take up a majority of my time

 

maybe i will get real good at it all and one day be able to live off the things i grow and make on my land.

i could do it easily if i grew a bunch of weed and sold it…..but i dont care for drug dealers…..i would rather just grow enough smoke for me and not deal with those dumb fucks.

i was also thinking that i would buy some solar panels….. maybe if i get enough i could go off the grid completely……

i will also need some charred American Oak barrels….for whiskey ( and wine) making

i would get a horse….but they shit entirely to much……..ill just get a golf cart and name it horse.

i already own a truck…..so i can check that off the list.

I will paint SCOTT in big white letters on the front of my barn…..

My property will need a name….but i think i will have to wait and get to know the place a little while…before she tells me her name.
