Has it been 3 weeks already? Tell you what…that first night we brought Lily home, I thought we’d never make it this far.
Duckie and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on May 16. It was really low key. We had pizza from Pizza Hut and then went out to get some ice cream at Cold Stone. I got a temporary wedding band (picked it out myself and everything) because my wedding/engagement set still doesn’t fit. I hope the swelling in my hands and feet goes down eventually. Anyway, I got Duckie a collection of Poe stories with some illustrations that he really likes. We actually already have all of Poe’s stories, but Duckie really wanted the illustrations, so now we have two. Or, we will. Stupid thing isn’t here yet.
I’m going back to work on June 25 and I still haven’t found daycare for Lily. It’s not that I haven’t been trying, but everything that’s in our price range is run by idiots. I’m sorry, but if you can’t form a complete sentence and use capitalization and basic punctuation, but can pepper your emails with "umms," I’m not interested in having you care for my child. I’m not expecting every home daycare provider to be a retired teacher, but if you’re running a business (especially one where you might have some bearing on what/how a child learns), you might want to present yourself a little more professionally.
Crap, maybe I should quit my job and charge people $275 a week for daycare even though my only real experience is owning some dogs. I might consider it … if I liked kids. But, I don’t, so that’s not happening.
Anyhow! We took Lily to church yesterday in a super cute dress. She was a HUGE hit with the ladies sitting near us – especially the old ones.
Here is said cute dress (and the baby in it):
love the dress- and the baby is cute too 😉 I ran into that problem when I went back to work… everyone I could afford was an idiot. And now I stay t home so it doesn’t matter, but I’d have my own home daycare too if I liked other people’s kids. as a general rule I only like my own. haha

I hope you find some decent daycare soon. Congrats on taking care of a baby for 3 weeks! Lily is so adorable! Super cute dress too.

That is a cute dress. And, y’know, a cute baby. 😀 Daycare is a scary proposition. Want someone who appears to be competent of taking care of your offspring? They charge limbs. It sucks.

A few days after we came home from the hospital, I said, “Don’t these things come with an owner’s manual?” He was crying and cranky and…well…we didn’t know what we were doing! Almost 21 months later, he’s still alive and doing well! She is SO freakin’ adorable!!!! $275 a week for daycare? Holy crap! Our lady has an in-home daycare and it’s only $105 for up to 45 hours. They do crafts, learning, play outside, etc. Hopefully you can find a reasonable, great daycare!

I love the ‘wth’ look. LOL It is a beautiful dress though and she’s cute! And daycare is sooo freaking expensive. *shakes head* If I had the space.. and a decent house I’d totally just take some kids in here… *prods at it* haha Good luck though!
