lost a student

I’m writing just briefly before working on my lesson about r-controlled vowels tomorrow.  In first grade, it’s called "Bossy R" because the vowel right before it has to change its sound. Yeah, see if my munchkins get that on the first try! But, we’ll work hard and do our best.

One of my very favorite students transferred to another school.  Today was his last day! BOOOOOO!  I was so sad.  His parents said he just wasn’t the kid they know when he would come home from school, so they’ve been praying and praying about it and felt like he needed to go to another school.  I was so sad and his mom said she didn’t want to make anyone sad, but this was the right decision.  At least I was assured that it wasn’t my fault.  I love that kid and he’s sooooo funny and smart!

That’s about all for now.  Just wanted to mourn the loss of my student. Sad day!
