interesting
When we got temporarily relocated to wait for our new school to be rebuilt, all of us understood that there would be many "interesting" occurrences throughout the year. I personally didn’t expect so many!
The first grade team has recently made a change in our schedules. We’ve taken fifteen minutes of each day (excluding Mondays) for interventions, or in other words, extra practice, in literacy skills for our lowest students. It’s just an experiment, but I don’t like the time taken away from my schedule. Now, you might say "15 minutes is nothing!" Well, I might be more okay with it if we had more time in the day. Technically, because of our unique situation, we’ve lost a good hour in our schedules. Apparently last year the schedule was an hour longer; it was a normal school schedule. Oh, how I would kill for that extra hour. Those fifteen intervention minutes are precious this year and it takes some great talent to fit everything in that I feel NEEDS to be fit in every day especially now that I’ve been robbed of 15 extra, beloved minutes of my day! We’re just experimenting with this interventions thing and we’ll re-test our students before Christmas break, but until I see it working with my munchkins, I’m not going to enjoy it entirely. That’s inevitable and just the way it works! It takes away valuable writing time for my students and they would kill me if I got rid of show and tell in order to fit in more writing time!
On top of all of this, I got a new student on Monday and another one on Tuesday. Oh, and if you read my irate mother entry a few entries ago, I’ve something to add: apparently everything that happens to her daughter is my fault, even if she’s not in my group this week! That’s okay, I just laugh at the situation cuz honestly, it is quite amusing that this mother thinks we should read her thoughts and pretty much call her when her daughter gets on the bus or starts walking to Nana’s. It’s all too much! I can’t take it any more! Heh heh.

Wow, 15 minutes is a lot. You are a cheerful person, just make sure that your attitude doesn’t change during the 15 minutes so your students don’t think that it isn’t important. Parents are funny sometimes.

Some parents just need to take a chill pill. Don’t worry, you get alittle break soon from all the stress!

Oh, I’m glad that you’re glad! I wanted to get a little more extra credit for my improvisation class. So, I guess I say now…”goodbye, see ya next year!” there you got your goodbye.
