Robert’s 16 months/Fighting with Roy
8:38am *sigh* This isn’t the way I like to journal. In fact, if things are going not well, then I tend to not journal. (maybe that’s been hard to notice with all my ranting about Dylan and his mom!!) But I am so tired of fighting with Roy. Actually, it’s been off mostly this summer with Dylan being gone most of the time and not having to deal with krissy. What a nice break that was!! But it’s BACK ON!! We went to Dylan’s Back to School night last night to find out what’s up with his school, and guess who didn’t bother to show up again?! Yup! Dylan’s Mom!! She probably doesn’t want ME to be involved with Dylan and his schooling, but she refuses to do it herself as well!! (makes sense, huh?!) SO INFURIATING. Roy didn’t even mention her once while we were at Dylan’s High School!! I wonder if he even realizes she is absent, or if he’s just used to it now, year after year of her not showing up!! But Roy and i weren’t talking much before we went, and we certainly aren’t talking now!! In fact I don’t even know where he slept last night. The couch? The shop? whatever. He was gone when I woke up (at least not in the house) and so I don’t even know what to do to start this day off right. I made a dinner last night that he accused me of actually knowingly putting stuff in it that he didn’t like. (it was a pre-prepared Cashew Chicken dish from Costco that I thought would be an easy dinner to prepare since I wasn’t going to be home last night!!) Sheesh. I swear. If I don’t make the exact same things over and over again, there is ALWAYS a complaint. I can’t think of the last time I tried something new where Roy actually had something positive to say. I’m getting tired of that too. I like to mix stuff up and try new things. Roy will eat the same thing every day for the rest of his life and be fine with it. *sigh* again.
Robert is cracking me up tho!! He is doing new things EVERY DAY!! His signing is REALLY going well. He has been signing "grapes" to me, and "dog" and the neighbors that watched him last night said he signed "flower!" and I haven’t seen him do that one!! They said he actually would do the signs BEFORE the kids on the video did the signs!! Impressive!!
Let me just mention what he says… "Dat" has been a favorite for a long time, but now he uses that interchangeably with "Bop!" He has been saying a version of "spongebob squarepants" for about a week now!! you can definitely tell that is what he is saying! He can jump with both feet! I’m actually thinking of getting him signed up for some tumbling on Friday mornings with his friend Bobby. I think he’d do real well with summersaults and the balance beam and stuff!! The only problem is that it is right at the same time as the Tot Shabbat at the synagogue, so I’d have to choose. He’s only elgible for the Tot Shabbat for a couple more months I believe and then he is expected to go into the 18 month old class (which is without parental participation!!) I think he’s too young for that, but on the other hand he does Real Well at the tenants house when they watch him with their 1 yr old!! Maybe it’s a good socializing thing for him…. hmmm.
Well, it’s time for our daily walk. I’m gonna call Annie and see if she wants to do it again today! It’s been SO NICE to have someone to walk with!
I’m sorry to hear that things aren’t going well with Roy, but yay to Robert’s progress! đŸ™‚
