finally bought a TV stand!!

9:08pm
I just had 3 days off in a row, and feel like…what did I accomplish? I actually got quite a bit done on my To Do List, but I still don’t feel like I did enough because I spent SO MUCH TIME online trying to pick out the DANG TV STAND!! Seriously, when I researched the flat screen tvs (LCD) so we could finally buy one for the house, I OVERWHELMED myself with too much information about TVs!! Now I have the whole flat screen system (TV, Blue Ray Disc Player, Surround Sound Speakers, receiver) and I am overwhelming myself with what kind of shelving to put it on!!! RIDICULOUS!!! So… I’ve been researching them (or online shopping) for weeks. I have seen a lot of what’s out there and I told myself yesterday that I would NOT go to sleep last night without finding and paying for a TV stand. The baby didn’t want to nap, so I kept getting interrupted in my searching!! Then again, the baby is more important, so I felt guilt and would leave the internet for time with the babe. He was so cute, too…

One time I got up from my desk, was because I heard the guy in the Baby Einstein movie start singing, "hey, hey Little Turtle, would you like to come swim with me…" And I just had to go into the living room and climb into Robert’s "playpen" (fenced in area of the living room) and sit next to him while he watched the turtles and dolphins and fish all swim on the screen. He was sitting on his tush and rocking back and forth to the guy singing. IT IS THE SWEETEST THING – watching him sitting there, so wrapped up in the movie he is watching.  So simple and yet so sincere. Just plain enjoyment of music and beautiful natural images for the baby. I absolutely LOVE the Baby Einstein movies and wonder if other countries have put out similar movies. They really should. For the developing baby they are marvelous!

Anyway, back to the sweet baby

As soon as I sat down next to him he quit rocking.  He kept looking from me to the tv, but settled on the tv!  what a sweetie!  I love him so much!

OK.  You get the drift.  Sometimes I really get taken by how strong of love I feel for him.  He’s just this innocent person, and everything I do with him will one day be scrutinized and reviewed (by him).  I hope I’m a good mom to him.  I hope he doesn’t resent all the time I spent ATTACKING HIM WITH SMOOTCHES because I can’t ever see stopping!!!

OK.  So I finally bought the TV stand.  I told myself AT FIRST I would spend no more than $500 on a stinkin stand.  (Dylan had asked, "what if it costs $510… would you buy it?" – stinker)  It cost $515!!  I bought the Jamaican Bay style Mohagany Stand.  I hope it is nice.  It’s 60" by 36" and 20" deep.  It will take up the space under the tv and then a little to each side, but it’s an area of the room where we wouldn’t go anyway (back corner).  I can’t wait to get it!!  I can’t wait to clean up the living room.  When we get the stand, the changing table will go!!  Bye Bye changing table time!!  I can’t believe it!  I REMEMBER when Roy and I said we would never even USE that thing!!  We got it cuz Roy’s nephew, Drew, dropped it along with many other baby supplies off at our house.  I felt at the time that he was using us to get rid of stuff easily, while he was trying to move out of state.  I didn’t even want a lot of the stuff he dropped off (and some was for a baby GIRL).  I was pissed that the changing table took up so much space in our home and then on our balcony when we removed it from the Living Room.  Roy even used it to start storing stuff!!  But MAN WAS I WRONG!!  We used the HECK out of that table!!  It was very convenient and saved our backs when changing him!!  But now, he’s flipping around and sitting up in the middle of a changing and he starts to try to go toward the window!!  (it’s sitting next to a window)  So f*ck that!!  I won’t have him falling off the table or out the window.  I’d rather get rid of it now.  Change up again!!

I need to get a picture of that little boy crawling away sans diaper!!  His pudgy tush hangin out while he tries to make a quick escape!!  What a funny kid!!  He really cracks me up!  Part of me thinks that he is doing nothing special and that all developing babies end up doing this stuff at this stage, but HELL.  TO ME IT IS SPECIAL and also a first.  To me it is all a first.  I find it just fascinating!!  He is cute as the dickens!!  (can you tell I’m in Love?!)

Katie asked me a while back if it was true – that it was a love like no other?  Oh, yes!!  So true!  I’m truly in love – but in a new way!  There’s nothing sexual – or revved up exciting like all that.  It’s just this pure, selfless love that I want to give to him.

Speaking of Katie.  She’s moved back to L.A.  I need to see my brother and my Grandma there.  and I just found out that Tracey will be in L.A. March 24th – the 30th!!  So…  I will make my trip to L.A. on the 25th I think.  And I will take the baby.  That means it’s time for me to start carseat shopping.  He’s going to need 2 Toddler carseats…  *sigh*  that’s going to be around $400!!  *cha-ching!!*

Well, there goes all my random thoughts for the evening.  I do need to get to sleep soon, so I can be up at 5am to start again tomorrow!  I work tomorrow and then I’ll be off for at least one day.  I wonder when the baby went to sleep.  The whole house was asleep when I got home.  Roy is SOUND asleep.
and I think I’m hungry.

through SO much…she had an amputation (AKA), like three lung surgeries, and then it spread to her wrist, her other leg and her brain. 🙁 She did get to go on dancing with the stars on her birthday tho. That picture was taken before her first(leg) surgery. I asked her what she was doing for the rest of vacation and she was like, Well, umph, I’m only having an amputation! What you can learn
