Last Night’s Thoughts

I’ll light a candle

For all these tables are significant

All worth remebering

So symbolic in their posture

So sturdy in their legs

I’ll set a table

For this story needs to be told

Blow the dust from these ancient editions

Time honored – somehow forgotten

All at the same time

I’ll walk a path unknown

The dreams of our fathers’ youth

Marked with the feet of the Great Adventurer

So strong in His will to love

So mighty in His mystery
