Work drama, but no details yet

There is drama going on at work. I can’t really talk about any of it yet. The thing I know for certain has been embargoed for several days so that’s out, and the thing I’ve been told through back channels is probably true but hasn’t been made official yet, so I can’t talk about that.

Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I have to wonder if someone in HR is seeding juicy stories as Canary Traps and seeing which version of which story makes it to the Internet first.

Once the embargo is lifted on the one thing and I have official confirmation on the other thing I’ll put up another entry. Sorry for being cryptic, but it’s been a while since I’ve updated and I didn’t want to fall out of the habit again.

I’ve got a good group of salaried trainees this time, they interact and ask good questions. I am concerned for them and their seeming inability to follow written instructions  though. I was supposed to have six people, then three people who hadn’t bothered to confirm their attendance (we sent invites out a month in advance) showed up as well, then one person who was unable to attend due to store issues never bothered to cancel, so I ended up with a net two extra. You’d think that’s not a big deal but we have to get them registered, print intro packets for them, and make badges to let them in and out of the facility in addition to rounding up the extra equipment and re-arranging the tables. And I had to do all of that while they were sitting there looking at me like I was the one who screwed up. If I was managing the facility I’d have sent them back to their stores and charged their mileage back as well for being stupid. That’s probably why I’m not managing the facility.
