Martin Luther King
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy." – Martin Luther King, Jr.
These words have been repeated a lot today. I hope those rejoicing at current news events have respect for their notion.
I have no doubt the world is a safer better place with certain individuals not in a position of power, or able to organise campaigns of fear and terror. But these people should be held accountable for their actions, not merely destroyed. I don’t mean to engage in debate about the rights or wrongs of the individuals in the campaign to find Mr Bin Laden, merely that the zealous reaction of a few has been detremental to the countries who are meant to stand for things like Liberty and Justice.
I’m no fan of terrorism. I’m no hater of the USA, but i do think we can do better than rejoice in death. Be it the death of thousands of innocents or one misguided fool.
I love you for this entry.

This, this is what my mind has been traveling around on all day. I’ve been so angry since last night that people would celebrate the death of a human being. even an enemy. ryn: -laughs softly- you don’t know me if you say that.

RYN: Well I am willing to try anything even if it’s not conventional so I might give the pineapple juice a go tomorrow!
