highs and lows of the weekend. that’s jazz.

This weekend had numerous highs and lows.

While i was driving for a Jazz Festival in Aberdeen, i got to meet some nice people, and hear some awesome music. For those who like hardcore old school jazz, i recommend Jeremy Pelt. his quintet from New York were excellent musicians.

For lyrical, rhythmic and ‘smile-on-your-face’ jazz, i highly HIGHLY recommend the Neil Cowley trio. Wonderful, fun guys, and their music is outstanding. simply awesome. (which is an ironic phrase, i realise.)

the gigs were good, the people were having a good time, yet in between drives to and from hotels, airports, workshops and gigs, i would visit the hospital to see my girlfriend. Back in, again. She’s fed up and unhappy, and getting no answers from seemingly incapable of deciding what is wrong with her.

It’s heartbreaking seeing her cry.

I have the same problems. Lots of hospitals and not enough answers. It’s tiring and wears on relations. But in the end things always seem to come out. I hope she feels better soon!
