the saga continues

this appears to have become some kind of blog promotin my musical, or my musical career. so i won’t disappoint my reader. The latest running issue is do we try to take a small show to the Edinburgh Festival or not? Apparently on average, a show going to the famous Fringe Festival has to be prepared to lose around £5000, which is around $8000 at the moment. We have £1000 in the bank after our first attempt, and can possibly raise another 1 or even 2 grand, but that still leaves us very short.

However we are going for broke big style by trying to make our show a professional endeavour. For this we need to raise in the region of £18,000. So if anyone reading this is rich and likes musicals, for the love of god please let me know!

It’s not easy, but we rarely have an opportunity to take something as far as we can in life. And if you don’t try, you may always have that niggling doubt that you could or should have tried.

On the other side of life, things are good, pootling along singing my song. I released a single with my group, and we are even available on itunes (UK at least, i don’t know about anywhere else, sorry, but amazon may have it) it’s the classic ‘Mack the Knife’ and we are called OCEAN’S 3. let me know what you think of it. i’m the 3rd voice you hear singing.

Teaching restarts soon, at what appears to be a completely different world, as the college have lost or fired half of the staff, seemingly treating them appallingly, and i am benefitting no end. Which is bittersweet to say the least. So i have no idea what i’m returning to, and how long it will last, but at least it will pay well while it does.

Back working at the Theatre over the Christmas season during pantomime, good pay and good times, plus always the odd casino trip for those willing to stay up til 4am. It’s always fun, and on the big days in between i have gigs with Ocean’s 3 so i should have no spare time but a hell of a lot more money by the time January comes around. First time for everything.

Please do tell me how you are, dear reader, it’s nice to know whose attention i have, if anyone, and even nicer to hear about others who have taken their time to hear me rambling on about the mundane.

Love life is good, the girl in my life is wonderful, there are always the other girls i have loved, but i have long since become one of those who can handle the concept of ‘look but don’t touch’, and these days (maybe it’s my age beginning to show) i don’t wrestle with the demons of ‘what if’ and ‘if only’.

Though i do like to remind my beautiful friends that i still think of ‘Em.

Take care good people, sometimes saying nothing out loud – as such – is highly theraputic.

ryn: nah the meteors weren’t very impressive. Well…I think I missed seeing any impressive ones other than the kitten shaped one.
