Whole – 10/23/16
Once we were Pangea.
Perfect, and massive, and entirely One.
You made life, mountains and landscapes.
Oceans and seas; lakes, ponds and puddles.
You made colour, and light, and then gave me eyes to see.
You made music, and thunder, and gave me ears to hear.
You poured your blood to keep this heart beating, and you
only asked for one, simple task – Keep things moving.
So I moved the plates, and I tore us all apart.
I pushed the living to their graves.
I crushed the mountains down to sand.
I blew your oceans into storms.
I set your light away, and stripped your colours from the Earth.
I moved my hands over my ears, to hear only what I’d like.
I closed the lids over my eyes, to see only what I chose.
I took your blood, and let it spill.
And then I left.
