80 Day WLC – Day 14
What is your least favorite type of strength exercise?
I would have to say lifting weights. I don’t mind the machines where you adjust the weight on them, like leg machines and arm machines, but I don’t like just working with free weights (except my 5 pound hand weights). This is a major reason I ordered the Pilates DVD….because that is strength exercising that doesn’t involve weights and I enjoy doing it.
So, today was weigh-in day. I’m down another 2.2 pounds…the exact same amount I lost last time I weighed…lol. So last time the scale read 213.8, today it read 211.6. I’ll be honest, I was hoping for a little more lost, but hey, at least I did lose, so I won’t complain. I’m just happy I’m going in the right direction!

Today was a nice day. Hubby had to work. I slept in, which felt wonderful! After I got up I had some yogurt for breakfast, then watched a movie on TV (Mindhunters) and putzed around on the computer. After that I got up and cleaned the kitchen, then made a salad for lunch. Hubby came home around 5:00ish with mexican food from this awesome little hole-in-the-wall place in Detroit. I made some guacamole (I make my own because I can’t eat onions and anyplace you get it, there’s always onions in it!), and had some of that with some tortilla chips. After that I wasn’t hungry at all anymore, so my tacos are in the fridge and I’ll eat them tomorrow.
I went to the 7:30 PM service at church tonight and made a new friend…her name is Cecilia. She is such a doll! She’s also a big crybaby like me, so I think we’re gonna get along beautifully! LOL! I’m looking forward to getting to know her better. I sat with her and one of the ladies from the Her Life group that I met last Thursday. It was nice to not have to sit alone.
The church is doing six missions this year….one to Colombia, one in downtown Detroit, and four to Haiti. Two of the Haiti ones are to help them have access to clean water, and one is to work in an orphanage. I would love to go on either the Haiti orphanage one or the Colombia one, but I really don’t think I’ll be able to afford it this year. And the two missions I’m interested in also take place over the time when I plan on going to AZ to see my sister when she gets her one year sobriety coin, and I really want to be there for that. So this year I think I’ll do the Detroit one…..because that won’t cost anything, and Detroit definitely needs all the help it can get! And now that I know about these missions, and that they do them every year, I can start saving up to do one next year in another country. I know they go to Haiti every year, and next year there might be other places as well.
OH OH OH!!!! I almost forgot! Remember the testing I went to on Thursday for the job with AAA? I got a call today for an interview this coming Wednesday!!!!!! 🙂 I’m pretty excited!
So all in all, a wonderful Saturday. Lost more weight, got a call for an interview, made a new friend at church….life is good! 🙂
I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday and have a great rest of the weekend! Much love…xoxo
