NoJoMo Day 19

Missed a couple more days….shame on me!  Anyone wanna spank me? 😉

I was going to write last night, but I had chills, body aches, headache and fever.  I felt horrible!  I ended up going to bed much earlier than I usually do, and I’m happy to say I slept soooo good!  I’ve also switched my medications back to the way they were before the shink decided to experiment and made the changes that had me sleeping and weeping all the time.  Wow, what a difference!  I feel like the old me again.  I don’t understand why the shrink felt the need to make the change in meds in the first place,  but oh well….I changed them back to the meds/dosages they were at and that’s how they’re staying.

Stacey and I had a great time on Saturday night.  Breaking Dawn 2 was PHENOMENAL!!!!  I want to go see it again, it was so good!  And then we went out for sushi afterwards, had some wine, and sat and talked for several hours.  It was so nice to get out and spend time with a friend.  It really was a lovely evening.  And I got to meet baby Gabe for the first time 🙂  He is gorgeous!  Stacey took a pic of me and hubby while I was holding Gabe, but I didn’t get to see it.  I’m hoping she’ll put it on Facebook or something so I can.

I finally, FINALLY finished all three of the Fifty Shades books.  I have to admit, I was so freaking glad they were over.  Let me sum up the books for you:  they screw all the time, and when they’re not screwing, they’re fighting over the same things they always fight about.  Christian Grey is a fucked up control freak, and Ana is a whiny bitch who is always going out of her way to piss Christian off, then pouting when he gets mad at her.  By the time I got to the third book, I was skipping over the sex parts entirely….I was just so over them already.  So I’m going to shock some people and say no, I would not recommend these books.  The writing is very poor, the author is SO repetitive, and she managed to make both of the main characters extremely unlikeable.  If the author hadn’t been so repetitive, and had cut out half the sex scenes (which would still leave plenty, trust me!), it could’ve been two books instead of three, easily.

Thanksgiving is just a few days away….what’s everyone’s plan for Turkey day?  There’s a place here by us called Big Bear Lodge, it’s this amazing restaurant, and every year on Thanksgiving they have this AMAZING buffet!!  You have to make reservations because so many people go to it.  Tony and I have done it every Thanksgiving since we’ve lived here.  It’s just the two of us, I’m not much of a cook, so going there is perfect for us, and we really, really enjoy it.  After that I may be going and camping out at Wal-Mart to see if I can get my hands on a couple of TV’s for $88 apiece for Tony’s girls (the two younger ones) for Christmas.  Caity, his oldest daughter, got brand new tires for her car, so she’s done.

Guess I’ll end here.  Gonna relax and watch Maury do some DNA tests on a bunch of ho’s possible baby daddy’s…lol!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!  Much love! xoxo

I had the same feelings on fifty shades, although I couldn’t get past the first few chapters of the second book.

it’s great to hear that your meds have been fixed and that you’re feeling like yourself again! and it’s great that your doc is willing to listen to your concerns and switch ’em back. 🙂 you’re brave to make it through all three fifty shades books, when the writing is so awful. i haven’t read them, but yeah… isn’t it amazing how sex sells? if it wasn’t in there, i can’t imagine the books would get sold at all. (not that there’s anything wrong with sex selling, but i wish people would appreciate more well-written books!) that buffet sounds incredible! what a great way to spend the holiday without slaving in the kitchen! anders and i are making a few basics and that’s all. it’ll be just us, and there will be leftovers for a week…

Well, you see…if the author did as you suggested and was able to make three books into two, that would hurt sales. Think of how much money that is. I have not read any of those books and have no desire to. I can’t deal with poor writing for some reason and repetitive things make me want to scream.
