Julia DiVino’s Brooklyn high school is overrun with gangs…..the Crips and the Bloods.  But Julia and her friends want no part of it.  Julia’s a good student and has dreams of going to college.  She and her close circle of friends keep to themselves and manage to avoid the gang drama taking place around them every school day, even though one of her girlfriends is a member of the female part of the Bloods.

Then a new boy comes to the school….Eric Valiente….who sweeps Julia off her feet and changes everything she THOUGHT she knew and felt about gangs and gang members.  Lines are re-drawn, and then they’re crossed.  But there’s more to Eric than Julia ever imagined.

This is a "young adult" book, but I really enjoyed it.  It gives you a real life glimpse into the lives of teenage gang members, and some of what you learn about them may just surprise you.  Yes, some gang members are hoods, but some of them are just looking for what we’re all looking for…..acceptance, and a sense of family.

I definitely recommend this book, especially to anyone who, like myself, grew up around a big city where gangs were prevalent and knew and even associated with some of them.  It made me sit and wonder what happened to them.  The few I knew were really nice people, and I hope life turned out okay for them.

Hang on to the money until I get them little froggies made (hey, I live in TN, I’m putting on my best “hillbilly speak”) ha ha ha. It might be a couple of weeks yet…and I have no idea how much the shipping will be…so let me get them made and then we’ll go from there…

You can keep potbelly pigs in the house as pets. They’re hypoallergenic…they don’t get fleas. They will use a litter box. I raised the mama in the house for the first four months. Had a harness for her… she went on newspapers the first day (at 2 months old) and after a couple of weeks, she wouldn’t use the papers anymore, she would wait to be taken outside!!!

They also don’t have an odor to them when raised in the house. They like to have a kids swimming pool to cool off in during the summer…they’ll eat just about anything and they are lovable as can be. They are also good “watch dogs”…and they are the smartest of all quadropeds. They’re great with cats, but dogs tend to pick on them…probably thinking “bacon!!!!!!”
