Christmas.

came and went i guess…

christmas eve was fairly uneventful except for my mother dropping a bunch of dishes in the kitchen while the rest of us were watching for the game winning field goal from the packers.

Christmas day was sooo lazy… We woke up around 930 or 1030 and opened presents, then layed around on the couch and didn’t do anything until 3:15 when i had to get ready to go to the kenseth’s christmas…

no… i didn’t see matt up there this year… katie and him had the flu, and since my grandparents are 90 and 95, the family knows to keep any sickness out of the house..  Actually though, there were a lot of teh family missing for various reasons this year… no dana/steve/logan, no jeremy/wife, and no aunt kathy… I heard about some of the drama associated with that, but i’m not sure where jeremy was… oh well… probably in iowa where he lives..

oi. i have a relative in iowa now… wierd.

ya know, its kind of funny to realize how spread out some of my family is… Besides wisconsin, we have people living in boston, north carolina, flordia, iowa, washington state… well i guess that’s really it… but still, we’ve become a lot more spread out then we used to be… its mostly all my cousins who are actually responsible for that… kinda.

… i guess that means when i move wherever, it will be about right.

the kenseth house is always fun because we usually dig out some old relics from my dads/aunts/uncles’s past… this year, we found 1) my dad’s air force photograph, which is really entertaining because it was a BW photo that was colorized by the photography studio.  2) an old service air force hat… whcih we think is my dads, but since there aren’t any of the numbers on the inside, we can’t be sure.  and 3) a bunch of old old records of my older aunts and uncles singing… apparently they had a friend (now this is in the late 30s, early 40s), who would record people and cut records as a side hobby.  They’ve got all these records that are actually cut on red almost-cardboard stuff… its really cool.  My aunt pauline took the recrods with plans to check them and try to burn them to CD.

Also we found a nifty old photo card of my granddad’s gradation class of 1926… so cool… and what was really interesting is that there were  A LOT more girls then guys who graduated at that time… probably because it was a farming community… the guys had to go work the fields or something… also… the HAIR STYLES were sooo cool… all the girls had short hair with big Waves in them.

I think i might put it on my winter break list to recreated the family tree again… as we looked through a REALLY old photo album some of the names started to come back…I also found out that my grandmother was “double-cousins” to someone… which i guess means that somewhere a pair of brothers and a a pair of sisters married… wierd wierd concept that we dont’ relaly think about anymore.

anyways, i’ve rambled on long enough…i  should probably 1) go shower and 2) go return the dvd that is due today to blockbuster… maybe if i’m insane enough i’ll go stop by the mall and or TJ Max…

rock on.
