Victory for common sense

I’m all on my own, and the novelty is wearing off. I’ve almost completed my list of things to do before my family returns from the far east. I have even got my Aquadroid computerised plant watering device out of mothballs and had a play with it. I am toying with the idea of another Arduino project. I want to build a new burglar alarm, but I also want to build a clock. I came across this project recently, and I think I may try something like this.

I made oxtail casserole yesterday, which was very nice. You have to remember to skim the fat off. I still have some left.

It’s been snowing again this week. I’m fed up with it. The garage door lock was frozen up yesterday, and it’s officially spring next week!.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that the EU was to vote on a proposal which, amongst other things, sought to ban pornography from all media, including the internet. This was all wrapped up in a proposal aimed at “eliminating gender stereotypes”. Sounds like bullshit to me, but it turns out that the section on pornography was actually removed from the proposal before the vote took place anyway. I can’t really see what porn has to do with gender stereotypes really, since it depicts men and women in all sorts of situations, umm, so I’m told anyway. Anyway, seems like a victory for common sense to me.

I watched some of the tv footage of the nutters in the Vatican choosing a new pope last week. I cannot be the only one in the world who thinks they look deranged, poncing around in their stupid hats and frocks. They look like nursery kids playing with the dressing up box. How on earth can anyone take those loonies seriously?
