I’ll write a proper entry soon

Today I am going to attempt to write an entry. I don’t seem to have any time for these things lately. I had a disk crash at work last week and all my spare time in the office has been taken up rebuilding the damn thing. It takes days. How the hell did I manage to wreck a solid state disk anyway?

I’ve been a little bit down since my birthday. I do have issues with getting older, and 45 seems such a huge number. The dragon is very good about this. She’s learnt that I get crabby around birthday time. She’s also learnt that I get crabby if she ignores it. She’s got the balance right.

Another thing that makes writing difficult at the moment is the fact that there is no news about anything, except the Olympics. I’m trying to enjoy it, but I am failing. It is nice to see the British doing well of course.

There are a fw reports out there, between the Olympic stories, about NASA landing a one tonne robot on Mars. Curiosity touched down on Monday morning on the surface of Mars and appears to be functioning well after its eight month journey from Earth. It’s a pretty amazing achievement. It apparently cost $2.5 billion. That’s quite a lot of cash isn’t it.

I can’t find a nudity story I like today, so instead I am going to do a prostitution story. Apparently the Australian hotel industry is fuming over a court ruling which now prevents them from banning guests from using hotels room for the purposes of prostitution. This all came about after an anonymous sex worker took a hotel owner to court and accused him of discrimination because he banned her from the hotel when he discovered she was bringing clients back to a room. And you know something odd about this, I don’t think I really have an opinion. I just like the story. The only thing I would say is that the hotel owner’s motives are suspect here. He claims that the lady was likely to offend other guests, but it seems to have taken him two years and 17 incidents before he twigged that she was meeting clients for sex there. Can’t have been much of a problem can she?

Maybe the hotel owner was trying to get a freebie special of the month and failed which made him mad 🙂

Have you not been following the Porn Trial?! It’s interesting, but scary- why are the CPS prosecuting under that law? That is not what it’s for… And there’s the Olympics…

Oh, my lord, you haven’t heard! Google it! Law prosecutes guy with consensual sexual images of fisting and the like, claims it’s extreme porn… and it’s not. Defendant has lost his job as barrister.
