I’m back – quick and muddled

I’m going to try and write an entry, but to be honest, I don’t think it’s going to get finished today (Tuesday) because I’m back at work and I’ve been confronted with what can only be described as a shitstorm of issues. I really ought to work while I’m here.

New Years’ resolutions:
I don’t usually keep to my resolutions, so this year I’ve decided to make just one. I’m going to lose weight. I’m going to get back down to 60Kg by June. My intention is to do it before then, but the naked bike ride is in June, so I think the goal has to be 60kg or less by then.

Christmas:
Christmas was pretty good this year. Christmas has been a little difficult since my father died four years ago on 28th December. It’s getting easier though. There was over eating. The boy got a huge moutain of presents. No one got drunk and disgraced themselves.

Heating:
Our leaking radiator is now disconnected. It means our living room is cold, but the rest of the system seems to be working for now. I have plans to re-pipe it in the spring. This is both terrifying and exciting.

Work:
I’m back after Christmas. Nothing changes. Did I mention that the dragon has taken a teaching job at the boy’s school? It was the most amazing stroke of luck. She went the to school about a volunteer job and they asked her if she would consider a lunchtime supervisor role. Then when she interviewed for that they asked her about a teaching position. She ended up accepting them both. It’s ideal because she has exactly the same holidays and hours as the boy. So there are no childcare issues.

I think I may have made a tactical error at work. Somehow I let it slip that I had attended the last World Naked Bike Ride event in London. It caused some hilarity and amazment. And it now seems I may have some office support at this year’s event. I do intend to partake again. I don’t know how to play this. I could try and persuade some colleagues to do it with me. Or I could try to keep quiet and just bring up the subject again the day after I do it. The only other option would seem to be to resign myself to the fact that I may be cheered on by people I usually share an office with.

I don’t really have a nudity story for today, unless you count the above. Hoever, it does appear that the annual no pants subway ride is going to take place this weekend. I really don’t know much about this. I do know that “pants” in this istance means “trousers” so riding on the underground naked does not appear to be an option. I think it started in New York, but maybe it’s spread to other cities. I don’t think it happens in UK. It interests me. What is it in aid of? Here’s a report.

Aack, even I can’t hit 60kg. All the best!

The only thing I’m looking for now is a peace of mind. I’m 2kg more than 60. It just won’t go away.

There’s a bloke who lives in Frankfurt called naked George. I was amazed when I heard about him. He’s been given a license to go round naked. Germans I talked to were very proud that their nation allowed him this freedom. Good luck with your nakedness.
