Butt Heads
When my Lauryn was 4 and she was mad at me, she would hold her breath and make her face turn bright red. I’d say Okay sweet lady you can have your way Please stop holding your breath! Such an intense child, the next time she’d be mad at mommy I’d say Oh sweet lady, Please don’t hold your breath and make your face turn red! And she’d do it 🙂
When I was bullied in grade school I asked my mother what to do. She said ignore it and it will go away. That didn’t work out so great for me so I asked my father. He said to hit them harder and lower. I could back then, I was a little badass back then and it worked. If done right, you only have to do it once.
Jack gets mad at his mommy too 🙁 He has decided to squat on the floor, (make sure I’m looking…) and tap his forehead on the hardwood floor. Hmm. I can’t hit my sweet boy in the head…so I’ve decided to ignore it and hopefully it goes away.
My Mother In Law came over with some summer outfits for Jack. I told her what he was doing and she told me she saw America’s Funniest Home Videos and there was a babe that would do the exact same thing. He would follow his mother to each room and bounce his head off the floor, I even think they won the $10,000.00.
Mothers worry, I want him to stop that. In two days, if he’s still doing it…I think I’ll fake a fit. I’ll be so sad and crying, and he’ll give me kisses and never do it again. He kissed the floor yesterday, and the dog’s butt. People still shouldn’t leave him hanging. They don’t know he kissed the dog’s butt and his kisses are Never snotty or slobbery. He’s a very good kisser and he leaned over to my 16 year old nephew with intent to kiss in his eye. The kid gave him his cheek and I said oh poor Jack, he left you hanging. Again Jack leaned in with intent to kiss and the nephew puckered up said mmmmm, took it like a man 🙂
Jack was up every hour night before last and was the most high maintenance babe that day. He had two baths and went through 6 outfits and two sets of sheets. Exhausting, and the head butting floors. Last night I kept him up until ten. I put him in a grubby outfit and took him out to the garage with my husband and Lauryn. We all made that garage looking just like it should and we just loved each other, it was the best part of my day:) I gave Jack a late bath and that child did not wake up until 9 this morning.
He’s about to wake from his nap, and hasn’t head butted any floors this day….did or do any of your kids ever do that?
Thanks for the kind words! You know what is weird? My younger brother used to do the head-banging-on-floor thing when he was about 2 or 3.

Desmond would hold his breath and make his nose bleed lol. Adrian would stomp his foot. LOL i would have to hide so he wouldnt see me laugh. It would be cute. Desmond on the other hand one day when he did it i acted out like i was scared and started getting ready to take him to the hospital and he never did it again.

No, sorry, my young one never did the head band. He used to gring his teeth something fierce though. You could actually hear him, and it used to scare me that he was grinding them so hard that he woul rip them out. But eventually he just grew out of it.
