true friends are hard to come by

so i think things with me and ashley are on the mend. Its taken a while but im so glad we’re gonna try and work through everything, its so hard to give up on a friendship w/some one who was my BEST friend for 9 years. She said she feels the same so we’re gonna start over and move forward and get out of the past, we both hurt each other badly but even the worst times were better than not having her here. Im not willing to watch our old friendship get completely out of my reach. Our friendship pretty much ended at the end of summer/beginning of senior year. almost 6 months w/out her as my best friend and it hurts every time i think about it. there was so much time lost, it shouldnt be that way. im not gonna live the rest of my life regretting the fact that i never tried to re-establsh that friendship again. so last night we talked and we both kinda realized that the things that happened in the past year and a half cant possibly be bad enough to over shadow 9 good years. idk, im aprehensive and scared and excited and cautious all at the same time. but i honestly believe that true friendship lasts forever, so hopefully we can both work through this and be there for each other again….
