What a weekend!

Hey Everyone,

How was your weekend? Mine was great. I got home Friday and went straight to the laundry mat to get some clothes in the washer, actually all but one load worth was done so we are pretty caught up. My husband joined me and so while the clothes were in the washer we ran over to Victoria Secret because I needed some new underware, my husband helped me pick them up. When we were done there we ran to Game Stop, my husband said he needed something manly after being in Vic toria Secret. He ended up buying a used game, we then headed back to the laundry mat where I switched the clothes over to the dryer. While the clothes were in the dryer we ran to J.C. Penny. My husband needed to exchange a shirt and I was hoping to find some nice brown dress shoes since my current pair the sole is broke in two. I didn’t end up finding any shoes but, I did walk out with 4 new springy dress shirts, that I can wear on a normal basis as well as at work. I dropped my husband off at his car, he ran to the store while I ran to get the laundry. We both made it home around the same time and I cooked dinner and my husband folded clothes. I tried a new recipie that I had found, it was pork chops cooked in a beef and apple juice broth, then you add a mixture of a can of cherries, the juice from the cherries and cornstarch. You then let it all simmer for a while and make whatever you want to go with it. I made mashed potatoes. I thought it tasted really good, however, my husband had one bite and opted out. He is not a big cooked cherry fan I guess. Though he did say it was really tender and that it looked good and tasted alright, he just didn’t care for it. After dinner we played a few round of guitar hero before calling it a night.

Sat. I woke up to head to work. My husband woke up with me and was going to have my parents arriving in about 30 mins, well my parents got a really late start. Instead of them arriving at 10:30 am they didn’t get there till almost 2 pm. All well, what can you do. While I was at work my husband and my father put the first coat of stain on the bookcases. I then after I got off work had to go buy another can of stain and then I came home and helped stain the bookshelves. After we got the shelves done with the first coat we headed out to dinner while they dried. We ended up at Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner, my mother really likes the drinks there. After dinner we headed back to the apartment where my father and I were up till past midnight putting a second coat of stain on everything.

Sun. we planned to go to church, but my mother didn’t get up when she was supposed to so we ended up missing it. My father and I then got an early start on the bookcases, we had to now polyurethane all the shelves, and the cases themselves. we ran out of polyutethane and had to go get another can of it while the back side of the shelves started to dry, we then came back put the first coat on the front/ top side of the shelves. Afterwards we cleaned up and headed to Trader Joes. My father wanted to get some more wine to stock his pantry. He thus far has really liked the wines he has gotten from Trader Joes, so I see it as a reaccurring event to always go there when he comes into town. We then headed to the Great Harvest Bread Company and got some bread. We then headed to lunch. After lunch we headed back to the apartment to get the necessary gear on before heading to the hockey game, the main reason my parents were in town. It took us about 45 mins to get to the areana. My mother was originally surprised at how expensive the tickets were (we didn’t have to pay for them, because they were given to my mother from a rep. at her company), she had heard they weren’t that great of seats because we were in row AA. Yeah, was she ever wrong, we were in the very first row next to the ice and on a corner. It was awesome, everytime the puck came down our way we would always have someone slamming into the wall near or right in front of us. This was my husbands first hockey game and he absolutely had a great time. My family really likes hockey and have been to several games before, but never a pro game. The game we went to were the Chicago Wolves vs. the Grand Rapids Griffons. It was a good game, the Wolves won 6-4. My husband and I said we will so go again. I want to get a jersey and so does my husband. I think I found my pro team to go for in the AHL. I will still have to pick one for the NHL as well, but for now the Wolves will do. After the game we headed back to the apartment, my parents got around to leave, helped me clean up the place from all the bookcase work and they headed out. My husband and I sat and talked about the sconces we want to put in the living room as well as the candle scent to go with it. Afterwards I played guitar hero while my husband played on the computer. It was a long day.

The weekend was just so great, so much to do, and a lot of excitement. I have plenty of pics to upload to snapfish and then I will try and get them on here. Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Thanks to the few that gave me some suggestions on my idea for tell my husband when we are pregnant, though I don’t know when that will be yet. Hope you all have a great day!!
