More Beginning?

He sat alone in a booth at the popular campus pub where greasy food and cheap beer appealed to the majority of students.

“Hey, Del!”

He looked up at the sound of his voice. The corner of his mouth lifted in a half-smile. He waved one hand. The three joined him. He moved over to make room for one of the boys, while the other sat across from them with the girl.

“Mind if we join you?” The boy beside him laughed as he tried to catch the eye of one of the waitresses.

While they waited for their orders, they talked about the upcoming game.
