Just Testing FOD

It’s not often that OD goes down, but so it has done today. I thought it best to check here with this sort of an entry to see if FOD is working. I would be mightily annoyed to write a story entry and lose it.

I have to buy batteries for my digicam again so I can take a picture of our new family member. She came into our lives yesterday, purely serendipitously, and she’s quite charming and lovely, although a bit insane. My son insists that last is because she has now been part of our family for more than thirty seconds. He says that’s all it takes for a cat to go mad. I think most cats have an insane streak, and calicos most of all.

The new Little Miss (who is still nameless) was born August 5 and is a teeny little piece of calico madness. My male cats seem to think she’s fine, and of course, big Bob allows her to sleep and climb on him. The females aren’t keen on the presence of a new Princess in the house and will growl at her from fifteen feet away. If she gets too close, they hiss and she does a casual stop and turn with that air of “I meant to go over this way all along.”

She’s very pretty and we’re all charmed. I’ll share her picture when I get one taken. I also want to try to capture her voice. She makes the most hysterical sound that is more reminiscent of a rusty hinge than anything. She creaks. Very quietly, but she creaks. It’s very entertaining.

Now…to see if this will all save. Heh.
