weddings all around

The oldest daughter of a dear old friend finally married the father of her 2 adorable little boys:)  They were just that too many hours away for us to attend that wedding.  The next weekend my son, my first, my oldest, my baby, whom I haven’t seen in 14 months married his punk princess in her tiny home town of Irvine AB.  I wasn’t there, I am profoundly sad about that.  Yes it was a decision that I made but it was a tough one and will always hurt.  Yes they will be out here next week and we are supposed to do the wedding over again but we’ll have a party and celebrate with them but in my heart of hearts I know it won’t be the same.   In the end, my mother was in the hospital for most of last week, another reason that I was glad that I hadn’t planned to fly out to AB.  My mother is fine now, they don’t know what caused the lower GI bleed but it stopped after 24 hours.

Ds #2 got engaged and his GF is already planning their august 2012 wedding, 15 months of wedding planning!!!  My dd will be a bridesmaid and my niece will be a flower girl.  I have no idea what i am going to wear for that.  I would like something along the Salwar Kamiz style, flowing harem kind of pants and a tunic.  Maybe I’ll buy fabric from Tammachat  http://www.tammachat.com/ which is owned and run by 2  friends, and have something made out of silk:):)

In knitting, I finally finished the Lucy kuku doll.  DD didn’t want the arm tattoo on the doll and insisted that she needed a mouth.  I haven’t taken any pics yet but will put some on my flickr account.
