The summer flew by in a blur of paperwork, busywork and I’m not sure what else. The vacation at the end of it was exhausting and probably was an expense that we couldn’t afford but it is done and paid off. The fall is shaping up to be busy and full of challenges and far too stressful. I am just plain worn out, my reserves were tapped out a couple of years ago and when my parents were in the hospital and I just have not had a chance since then to catch my breath and restock:(
Right now on top of parenting my special needs teenaged daughter, hoping my chronically ill husband stays healthy (he had a very rough winter and spring but the summer was better) I am parenting 2 other teens, one an extra who is staying with us just now and each of those teens takes energy even when they are having a healthy sunny day and that is not all the time.
And just to add more stress, my #3 son is suddenly without a place to live as he has broken up with his live in girlfriend and finds himself sleeping on a friend’s couch while going to school fulltime and in the height of his varsity sports season. Luckily it is early in the semester. His ex gf isn’t taking this well, to clarify, nobody is at fault here, nobody cheated etc. my son just feels they need some time apart to work on their relationship and her response was that’s it, never wants to see him again after being together for almost 2 years:(
On the positive side, ds #2 got his MCAT scores yesterday and they are VERY good. My daughter’s fall schedule is coming together nicely too. We sold one of the violins and, fingers crossed, ds #4’s other car might get sold this week too.
I finished knitting the tube hat and the extra teen loved it and wants me to knit her a longer tube hat, I cast one on yesterday:)
I also started a baby hat out of the cascade cotton fixation, stretchy yarn, and while initially I wasn’t crazy about this yarn, I think it will be ok.
edited to add: ds #3 called me to say that he and the gf are talking and he isn’t going to move out just now, phew.
edit and addition #2: they broke up for good 2 days after I posted my last update:(
Yay for the MCAT scores!! Good for him!! Hope my dd doesn’t drive you toooo crazy. Thanks for taking her in. With blessings…
