It’s summer
Well, july is finally here which means it’s summer but we are also half way through 2010!!!! The month of june was ridiculously busy, culminating with prom and high school graduation for my #4 (and youngest) son. A lot of other people I know seem to have had kids graduate this year too. I can’t mention enough how glad I to be done with high school and to have him in charge of his own education, job etc. He will be 19 in almost exactly 6 months and then will be fully legally responsible for himself, at least in the province where we live, that means he can buy liquor and sign all his own waivers and so on.
DD has a mildly sprained ankle just now which is keeping us stuck at home as we depend on our feet or bicycles for getting around, saving the bus for emergencies and really nasty weather.
My cousin’s daughter just had her first baby and I know of 2 other (non knitters) who are in early pregnancy. I am inspired to try again and knit some cute baby socks with the sock yarn I bought a few months ago, it was on sale:)
I am still working on the blanket for ds #4 as well as a few other projects. My left wrist is still sore but fortunately neither knitting nor typing seem to bother it.
The ongoing sorting and downsizing is still taking far too much time and effort and producing what seem like ridiculously tiny results, ah well. Yesterday I took time out and attended a (free) workshop on natural dyeing. I got to work with indigo for the first time ever and also tried tie dyeing and that was easy too and produced 2 decent looking dyed large hankies. I have a large pile of plain white men’s hankies and I plan to get all of them dyed eventually, maybe in time to be gifts in december.
It’s certainly been a crazy few weeks, hasn’t it? With a smile…
