new technique
Wow, I can’t believe that I haven’t written here in so long. Life has been busy with the school year starting up again and my daughter taking 2 dance classes a week instead of one and having rehearsals. But we are adjusting to new routines and the ballet show has come and gone, only 2 months of rehearsals instead of almost 4 last spring. I got another year older as did my third son and my delighful little niece celebrated her first birthday.
Anyhow, on to knitting. I am waiting for several interesting sounding knitting related books from the library, they range from fiction to reference books.
Now don’t laugh but youtube helped me to learn a new knitting technique. While I can knit just fine with 5 dpns (double pointed needles) I eventually got curious to see what knitting with 2 circs (circular needles) instead would ber like. i used to wonder why anybody would bother when they had perfectly good dpns but over the years I have come to love my circs more than any other needles. So I knew that a couple of people had simultaneously come up with a technique to knit with 2 circs and I had even borrowed a book from the library by one of the those people, Cat Bordhi. But the book hadn’t explained it in a way that made sense to me. So the other day I was on ravelry (don’t ask, it’s kind of like facebook only just about knitting and crochet, patterns and yarn:)) and somebody had posted a link to a video on youtube by Cat Bordhi. So I watched it and what do you know, I understood the technique and have even been able to do it along with making the necessary modifications because I knit left handed which means inside out and backwards most of the time when looking at patterns and techniques too.
Well, it has taken me a couple of hours of fits and starts to get this entry done so I am going to quit now while I am ahead.
RYN: They are, as soon as Son can get his scheduled changed. PseudoSon B already has his changed and will probably move out this week. We’ll miss him. He’s a great kid. Miss B and I will miss them both. With a smile…
